Welcome Home (Sanitarium) - Metallica - Master of Puppets - This song is a jam, and one I wanted to air today but didn’t have time to do. In a perfect world, I’d just let my 1,500-song metal playlist roll on air, but I think I’d probably get arrested or something. Who knows. is the world’s most popular band, and they still got the stuff almost 40 years after their studio album! I like old Metallica more, but that’s just me (and anyone else who like “metal” metal)

Gateways - Dimmu Borgir - Abrahadabra - “Be the Broken or the Breaker. Be the Giver or the Undertaker. The locks can open the doors. The keys are in your hand.” - This song shreds. It was one of the first Death-subgenre songs I liked, and one that I’ve had saved since I first heard it in my parents van while driving to school one day. Dimmu Borgir shreds, and they have a very unique sound. Check ‘em out.

The Antichrist - Slayer - Show no Mercy - WELCOME TO F**KIN’ THRASH WEEK FOLKS! Coming off their first studio album, this song is a great example of early thrash. Ignore the fact that he calls himself the antichrist. Not really that big of a deal.

Dragonaut - Sleep - Sleep’s Holy Mountain - Stoner Metal. Sludge Metal. Whatever you want to call it, I love this stuff. It’s a southern sound, and one I really love. Fuzzy, slow, psychedelic metal that surprises you by not surprising you. Sleep is the Sludge Lord, and I am their faithful servant. Check ‘em out.

Bible - Ghost - Meliora

Since most of what I’ve been dropping out here for the shredders of the day has been pretty , I decided to put one of the more mainstream-palatable, modern metal bands out there.

Ghost has a very mild sound compared to most of what I’ve been sharing, but that doesn’t make them any less metal.

I’ll put it frankly, this song is beautiful. Check it out. And it’s not about evil metal things like Satan and Death and Assured Damnation and whatnot, it’s about God(kinda)!

Ok, it’s gets a little Apocalypse-y at the end, but it’s still a jam.

I honestly don’t know how Sabaton hasn’t made this frickin’ list yet, cause I absolutely love everything about them.

From tasty guitar licks, to powerful synth, to Joakim’s killer voice, and all of their epic, historical battle lyrics, this band never fails to get me ready to charge into battle. Check them out.

Yep. Friggin’ Viking Metal. This title track from the band’s seventh studio album sets the stage for the epic story they’re about to yell at you.

Thor, the Norse god of Thunder and Odin’s son, prepares for his final battle; nature versus chaos, Thor versus Jormundgandr. This mythical serpent encircled the Earth whole, causing chaos and disrupting the natural order.

In his final battle, Thor frees the Earth from chaos by defeating the beast, yet, having been injected with its venom, takes 9 paces and falls, dead.

At the end of the world, Thor takes one right on the f**kin’ face for all of us. Keep that in mind when you see a big snake beast thing coming out of the ocean.

I’ve waited too long to slap good ol’ Dave in here. Megadeth is one of my top 3 all times bands, and this album is one of my top albums. I got the whole thing saved on my Spotify. This album, released in 1990, slaps. The whole thing. SLAPS. Give it a listen, it won’t disappoint.

If this song doesn’t give you a stank face, then you must become more cultured. This band features one of my favorite screaming vocalists, John Gallagher, who is known for his deep, growling vocals. This band was actually featured on the most recent episode of South Park! Oh, and yes, the bands name really is Dying Fetus. And this songs clean! Somehow!

Today’s song is 1916 by Motörhead from their album, 1916, released in 1991. It’s a very slow and emotional selection for Motörhead, and today, it’s in memorial of the sirens.
