🚨🚨🚨UPDATE #3 - 1/18/25 8:00 AM
Brian Bedwell, 49, of Owensboro, was driving a Buick Rendezvous southbound on Ewing Road when his vehicle was struck by a Nissan Rogue, driven by 34-year-old David Biggs, also of Owensboro. Bedwell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office. Biggs sustained severe injuries and was initially transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital by AMR, before being transferred to Louisville, Kentucky. The investigation is ongoing, and criminal charges may be considered based on the outcome. 🚨🚨🚨

A preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was traveling westbound on W. 2nd Street when it collided with another vehicle that was heading southbound on Ewing Road. The driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. OPD Accident Reconstruction Investigators have responded to the scene to continue the investigation. The identities of those involved are being withheld at this time pending family notification. 🚨

Officers are on the scene of an injury accident this morning at the intersection of W. 2nd Street and Ewing Road. Please find an alternative route to your destination as the intersection will be closed for some time for the investigation. Updates will be provided when available.
