🌊 Throwback Vibes 🌊

This week, we’re throwing it back to "Lebanese Blonde" by Thievery Corporation. 🎶✨ Originally released in 1998 on their album The Mirror Conspiracy, this track became a defining piece of the downtempo/lounge movement. With its hypnotic sitar, sultry beats, and haunting vocals by Pam Bricker, it perfectly captures that late-'90s chill-out aesthetic.

The song gained wider recognition after being featured in the 2004 cult-classic film Garden State, introducing a new generation to Thievery Corporation’s signature sound—a fusion of trip-hop, dub, and world music influences. Over two decades later, "Lebanese Blonde" remains an essential track for any chill music lover.

🎧 Tune in to Mountain Chill KRKQ and let the timeless vibes take you on a journey. What’s your all-time favorite chill throwback? Drop it in the comments! 👇

Listen in for CAIC forecasts on air at 7.15 AM & 11.45 AM. Next day's forecast at 5.45 PM [MT].

⚠️ Avalanche danger will rise to HIGH (Level 4 of 5) over the Valentine’s Day and Presidents Day weekend, one of the busiest—and deadliest—times of the season. A powerful storm arriving Thursday night will bring heavy snow and strong winds, rapidly increasing the risk of large, dangerous avalanches.

“This is the highest danger we've seen in over a month,” said CAIC Director Ethan Greene. “With a weak snowpack, a big storm, and lots of people heading into the backcountry, the risk of avalanche accidents is high.”

February 14-16 is the most dangerous period of the season, with over one-third of all February avalanche fatalities occurring during these four days. Make a plan that matches the conditions. See the full press release @ https://avalanche.state.co.us/CAIC-news.
