As heard on-air, expect lengthily delays on CO-145 (Lizard Head Pass) for ongoing winter maintenance on Tuesday January 21st, 2025.

UPDATE: COOT reports the work is complete and both lanes of traffic are open.
Attention Tuesday motorists on Colorado Highway 145 over Lizard Head Pass!
Beginning Jan. 21 at noon, motorists will encounter length delays between Dolores and Telluride so that Colorado Department of Transportation crews can conduct winter maintenance. Northbound travelers will encounter a closure nine miles north of Rico (Mile Point 56). Southbound travelers will encounter a closure at Trout Lake (Mile Point 61)
Motorists will be intermittently guided by flaggers through the closure points.

On January 15th, we transitioned to backup studio-transmitter link hardware at our Grayhead transmitter following an unexpected equipment failure. The backup system does not incorporate the custom forward error correction and interleaving protocols we developed in-house to ensure rock-solid reliability in this remote location. As a result, you may experience occasional brief interruptions until we can safely access our FM transmitter site. Ensuring avalanche safety and protecting our personnel remain our top priorities. We welcome your signal reports via direct message or the station email.

Join me this Martin Luther King Day at the "Craft-er-Noon for Peace" at the Ouray Community Center, hosted by the Ouray Public Library. This free event runs from 1–6 PM and includes chili and vegan soup to share.

Remembering one of the greatest auteurs of all time.

It is with deep regret that we, his family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch. We would appreciate some privacy at this time. There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, “Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.”

It’s a beautiful day with golden sunshine and blue skies all the way.

As I reviewed the year I found this photo that someone else took of me (glasses, front row) at the Mary Lattimore performance as part of the Extreme Chill Festival in Reykjavik. Our favorite way to start the day… with terrain opening news!

- Friday, December 20th, Lifts 7, 8, and 9 open for the season!
- Saturday, December 21st, Lifts 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 open for the season!

These lifts will provide access to limited terrain and afford intermediate ski access to the Town of Telluride via Telluride Trail to Lower Lookout and Easy Out. Egress at the base of Lift 9 via Bail Out for experts only.

As always please observe all trail closure signs as the Mountain Operations teams continue their efforts to
open additional terrain when it is safe and there’s ample snow to do so.
