I know I say it every time I'm here, but it's always an adventure filming for my client the Park District of Highland Park. Among other fun things, today I was jumping in the waves of Lake Michigan using my 360 camera to zip around a paddle boarder! It was amazing fun!

All the videos I make are my babies – I pour my heart and soul into each and every one of them and am thankful for every opportunity I’ve had to tell other’s stories.

But some edits truly become “passion projects” – and telling the story of Emily Hardee and her organization for su***de awareness, “Run Today For Tomorrow” was exactly that. Having never met her cousin, Molly Yacko, hearing Emily and her Dad, Eric Yacko describe her – one can only come away loving Molly and wishing they could have known her, myself included.

And I tell ya, this edit makes me and all who watch it cry, but not because of anything I did…it’s all Emily! The focus of my part was easy – “just let her words and heart ring out" (as vulnerable and raw as they were - thank you for that, Emily) - and not only a heart for Molly, but for anyone suffering from depression.

Her Dad is 100% right…the world is a better place with her in it. Thank you, Emily!

Upon arriving in the Illinois Valley in August 2018, with my wife, Jamie (who grew up in Ottawa), I had never lived in a rural/small town environment. I was excited for the adventure and the chance to understand where she came from and connect with her family and friends on a deeper level. I knew building friendships here was going to be a joyful breeze (Illinois Valley has some of the best people around) - but to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect for myself personally in my lines of work.

Well, to say that this area has far exceeded my expectations is an understatement! I treasure the friendships I've made here, the work I've been able to do and I absolutely love the area, it's culture and history. Growing our business here has been an incredibly rewarding and pleasurable experience.

I've been building our website recently and Jamie suggested I assemble a collage with all the logos of the amazing companies we've had the pleasure of working with - after seeing it all come together I truly got emotional realizing how many people this venture has brought into our lives in such a short time! Studio E16 was born in Nashville but has definitely found it's home in LaSalle County!

Jamie and I are very proud and grateful to call this area our home and we look forward to continuing on our path here.

We are still so crazy about this one!
