A winter system will bring accumulating snow to much of central and southern Iowa for Wednesday and Wednesday night. The image shows the probability of 4 inches or more of snowfall during this time period. The greatest amounts are expected to be over southern Iowa. Northern Iowa snowfall will be dependent on dry air moving in from Minnesota and it is possible parts of northern Iowa have little to now snow. Stay tuned to forecast updates regarding this winter system.

Bidding starts now and ends at 8:59:59 on Saturday, February 8. Winning bids must be picked up at the Serenity House from 11-1 on Sunday, February 9.

Another winter system will move through the area starting late Friday night and lasting into Saturday. This will bring light snow to the north and a wintry mix/light freezing drizzle central and south. Greatest snow accumulations will be along and north of the IA/MN border.

Travel may become slick at times on Saturday, especially in the morning hours. Make sure to check 511ia.org before going out!

🎃👻 FREE EVENT: Enchanted Trail in Oskaloosa! 👻🎃 Thunder Country KIIC & Community 1st Credit Union invite you to the 'Enchanted Trail' on October 19th from 4-6pm in Oskaloosa! 🌟 🚶‍♀️✨ Walk along a beautiful 0.3-mile stretch of the Osky trail network and meet colorful characters based on Shrek! The fun doesn't stop there—the trail ends at the Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter with extra treats! 🍬🐾 🚌 You can either walk back to your car or take the free shuttle. This event is perfect for kids aged 0-12 (and kids at heart)! Strollers are welcome, but no bikes or motorized gear. Don't forget to bring a bag for candy! 👜🍭 📍 Parking: Park at S&A Auto or H&S Feed and Country Store to enter the trail. If you missed today's Bark-a-Que at Mahaska Drug, a benefit to help Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter, the Oskaloosa Police Department pulled out their top ace, helping an Oskaloosa Fire Department firefighter take the chill off.

We hope everyone enjoyed the northern lights on Friday night. We're sharing some video we took, sped up 8x to help showcase the movement.
