Images from a full Saturday, January 11th, of Basketball at Orono School where the Mattanawcook Academy Lady. Lynx and the MDI Trojans played the Orono Red Riots

In the first game, the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx would get the 67-42 victory over the Red Riots, however, despite missing two key players for the Red Riots, they Red Riots would battle through and keep the game close the Lynx were led by Addison Cyr finished with 23 along with Megan House who finished with 14 to lead the Lynx. For the Red Riots, they were led by Aubrey Quinney and Carmen Miller, who each finished with 11 points apiece, followed by Madison Sinclair, who finished with 8 points.

in the Boy's game, Orono would find themselves in a battle with the MDI Trojans. However, they would pick up the 61-55 victory to cap off an exciting day of basketball at Orono High School

Monday, January 6th, the Dexter Tigers would defeat the Orono Red Riots 42-10 in girls' Class C Northern Maine Basketball action, leading the Tigers Kayleigh Dunton finished with 16 points to help the Tigers improve to 6-3 along with their 45-23 victory over Bucksport Tuesday, January 7th. Orono will look to bounce back as they host Mattanawcook Academy on Saturday, January 11th

Orono Red Riots fall 54-47 to Houlton High School in Boys Class B Northern Maine action.

Isaiah Ervin led Houlton, who finished with 40 points, to help the Shires come from being down 1 at the half to pull off the victory. Orono Red Riots were led by Bergen Soderberg, who finished with 23 points. Orono will look to bounce back on Saturday, January 11th as they host MDI followed by the Girl's game vs Mattanawcook Academy

Orono Falls to Caribou in Class B Northern Maine Basketball Action

Saturday, January 4th

Following a tough loss against Hermon, the Orono Red Riots faced a formidable Caribou Vikings team in a thrilling back-and-forth game. Despite holding a small lead at halftime, the Red Riots ultimately fell to the Vikings with a final score of 59-49.

The Caribou Vikings were spearheaded by Tristan Robbins, who put up an impressive 21 points, closely followed by Owen Corrigan, who added 20 points to the tally. On the Orono Red Riots side, Bergen Soderberg led the charge with 17 points. Brady Hews, making his return from an injury sustained in the game against Old Town, contributed 10 points, while Matt Allen also chipped in with 10 points, followed by Will Francis, who finished with 8 points.

This game marks the third loss of the season for the Red Riots. Looking to turn things around, they are set to host Houlton on Tuesday, January 7th, followed by a matchup against MDI on Saturday, January 11th.

In an exciting doubleheader, Bangor Christian and Schenck High School faced off, with each team claiming a victory.

The first game saw the Bangor Christian girl's team triumph over the Schenck Wolverines with a decisive 47-28 win. The Patriots showcased their superior coordination and skill, leading them to a well-earned victory.
In the boys' game, Schenck High School turned the tables and dominated Bangor Christian. The Wolverines claimed a hard-fought 44-31 win over the Patriots. This game held extra significance as it was a rematch of last year's Northern Maine Championship, where Bangor Christian had previously emerged victorious.
