We work with different stations on the East Coast We are trying to move our broadcasts further out including keeping posts local to the areas being served. We get asked about events that may be posted, and we try our best to get that information out to the viewer and/or event directors. The Rock 104.1 was started by our director back in the early '70s then reactivated the station from that owner who was well known in the ’90s when more computer programming came out, to change the status of playing records, cassette tapes, the 8-Tracks around, artists started sending Compact Disks to him and donations we were able to get more power in our broadcast antennas (98.3 FM, 100.1 FM, 104.1 FM) radio could be heard in more areas including areas on the hillside that could never receive our station. With even more changes to computers, the internet came around 1996 making way for the fail-safe with our broadcasting if we had a failure in the towers we could push the signals over the internet radio basically what you see now iTunes, Iheartradio. (there are more out there I will add them) From the year 1996, we had two broadcasting towers shared we were using the dial-up servers everyone should remember the fax machine sounds you actually had to dial out to verify you were on-air and remote tower computers were online and keeping things checked, even the red FAA lights you currently see on towers at night or during the day the strobing white in color flashing. Then we started incorporating television on special channels over cable where you could see songs playing and the station number to request songs. Remember, cable was not high-speed yet, eventually, we got into Road Runner services for the duration, multiple cable companies were in the area of Adelphia and New Channels also known as post name till Time Warner Cable took hold of the names. Satellite services were in the area of Direct TV Dish Networks including Ku-Band which we had also used as the reason for dialing out. By the time the year, 2000 came around still going strong with stations and equipment getting better and more digital than before well before the significant changes that came further down the road, as the analog to all-digital signal you had to buy a box to convert signals only after scanning for channels. The change did set us back it was said that radio stations had to go digital if not already. Here we are now full of social media Facebook YouTube Instagram and other services. MP3 music had taken over since the internet became more used and more stations use that rather than using CDs less to carry what was done with CDs? Here you go those Cd's were used in contests and if you had a choice of prizes or what was allowed to be given, why do you think we give things out they are free to us as the content makers pay us to share royalties, and other merchandise that can be given. Currently, the internet has exploded so much that media is everywhere, even though we started and still remain in the New York area if you didn’t know Orlando Florida was our first out-of-New York station and we love it all those Floridians! News is shared back and forth to and from here's the thing nobody knows for sure where the news is coming from North or South or both different operators for those areas.
