All The Food & Drinks We Tried At This Year’s Universal Mardi Gras! 🎭

We kicked things off with drinks at French Quarter Sips, starting with the Pimm’s Cup ($16.50 for a 20oz souvenir cup). It had a strong cucumber flavor with a refreshing citrusy kick from the orange, strawberry, and lemon garnish. 🍋🍓

Next up was my favorite drink the Category 5 Punch! 🍹 Made with Cruzan Aged Dark Rum, Myers’s Dark Rum, and passion fruit puree, it was super sweet and fruity I couldn’t even taste the alcohol!

Then, we hit Bites of the Bayou:
•Cajun Spiced Twisted Tater ($9.99) – A bit spicy, but the Creole remoulade sauce was creamy, tangy, and absolutely delicious.
•King Cake ($7.49) – A classic Mardi Gras treat with a light cinnamon flavor and festive sprinkles. 🎂💜💛💚
•Beignets ($7.49) – Sweet, fluffy, and covered in powdered sugar. 🍩

At the Puerto Rico booth, we tried:
•Pinchos de Lechón ($10.99) – A grilled pork skewer with guava BBQ sauce, it was sweet, tangy.
•Cheese Dog ($9.99) – An all-beef hot dog wrapped in an empanada disc, served with mayo ketchup.

Over at the Colombia booth, we had:
•Chicken Empanadas ($8.99) – Crispy, golden masa pockets filled with seasoned chicken and served with aji picante. 🔥

Finally, my favorite dish of the night came from the Canada booth:
•Margherita Poutine ($10.49) – Pub fries loaded with fresh mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, and basil cream absolutely incredible!

Baguette de Dinde – Cracked black pepper turkey with arugula, apples, and Brie on a warm baguette with mustard & apple butter. 🦃🍏

Quiche Lorraine – Egg custard with bacon, gruyère, caramelized onions, mornay sauce, and fresh berries with lavender honey drizzle. 🧀🍯
