For those saying evacuate. The whole state of FL CANNOT evacuate. That's impossible to do for millions of people at one time. We only have two ways in and two ways out of here, 75, and 95. The traffic for those who are leaving is ridiculous. People will run out of gas (some already have) and no place to refuel before they even leave the state. Possibly causing a more deadly reaction being stranded in your car on the freeway during the hurricane. Those of us who live more inland will stay put and hunker down leaving the exits out available for those who live on the coast. Most of us have been through several hurricanes living here. It does NOT get any easier. They seem to be getting stronger and more frequent over the years. Essential workers need to be here. Some have no where or resources to leave. This storm is VERY big and VERY powerful. We NEVER know what each storm brings until it gets here. We Floridians are strong and will do our best to get through this. Not gonna lie, I am scared for myself and those who live here. PLEASE JUST PRAY FOR US. Everyone on my timeline who is staying please check in when possible. As Tom Terry says " its time to hunker down"..

Information:

Orange County is currently under a local state of emergency, and also a state and federal state of emergency. The county is also under a Hurricane Watch. Impacts from Milton are expected to begin mid-day Wednesday. All storm preparation should be completed by Tuesday night.

Potential Weather Threats:

· Hurricane Force Winds 74-110 mph
· 3-6" of rain in Central Florida, some areas 10-12"

Free self-service sandbags are available tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at six locations across the county. Individuals with special needs who need sandbag assistance should contact Orange County 311 by dialing 3-1-1 or 407-836-3111.
