Ankle surgery tomorrow! 🥳🥳

Yes I'm actually excited because then I can get back to life instead of limping around in pain all the time! 😅

I've got loads of projects I'm trying to wrap by end of day. Wish me luck! 🤞🤞

I'm fully expecting to be back in the studio next week, ready to roll again. 🎧🎛🎚

There's an 8th grader coming to shadow me today. 🤓

Anytime I have someone coming to watch me work, I like to give them that day's to-do list and let them choose since I work on such a variety of projects.

Today's to-do list includes;

🎶 Develop music/production for light pop song already written

🎶 Start track for modern RnB pop song with general phrase ideas started

🎶 Start track for retro RnB Amy Whinehouse type new song (no lyrics or melody)

🎶 Edit vocals and additional production/instrumentation to rap song

🎶 Edit vocals and final mix on indie pop/rock song

🎶 Edit vocals on pop song

🎶 final mix on multiple pop/punk/rock songs with lots of electric guitars (some songs have profanity so...maybe not? 🤷‍♀️🤣)

🙈 Finish taxes

If you are watching the sing in this weekend and you're looking for me, you'll be sad because I won't be up there singing
😭😭😭

After extra rehearsals, lots of standing, walking, stairs, etc this past week, I made the tough, last minute decision to bow out of singing with the choir this weekend. My broken ankle (thus, the picture of the CT scan performed last week) is not healing and so it's causing a lot of pain if I'm on it for too long. Surgery is happening April 25th but doc says I'll be walking on it right away with the boot. Then 2 to 4 more weeks in the boot and I should be good as new!!

I am saved by grace.

The writing session was like a testimony meeting. We were each so desperate to testify of our faith in Jesus and how much we all need him. Growing up in a culture that didn't want to use the word "grace" too much, or we might get lazy in our discipleship, I've realized that "it is ONLY by HIS GRACE that we are saved".

I desperately want everyone to know this. We need Him. He LOVES us perfectly. There's no way you are too far gone for His love and grace.

Don't think for a second that I didn't make a mushy post about Valentine's Day because I'm not obsessed with my life partner.

'Cause I AM obsessed with

We just stopped celebrating the day cause it just doesn't have a special meaning to us. Perhaps it's because we've both had a lot of "valentines" that turned into heartbreak. 💔

So, we celebrate our anniversaries. Get ready, because those anniversaries are coming up. It'll be 11 years ago that we met, fell in love, got married and started our life together. And, man....am I so grateful I found him.

Total. Gamechanger.

Health update 1 week since fall/broken ankle, 3 weeks since shoulder surgery:

Emotionally exhausted, feeling hopeful one minute, discouraged the next.

New appreciation for people with chronic pain.

First post-surgery physical therapy yesterday and in a ton of pain.

A bit more mobile with this new boot, but ankle starts to hurt and ache if in normal sitting position for too long. Shoulder/arm starts to hurt after just a couple of hours at the computer.

New ankle wrap for night-time so finally sleeping a little better. I feel like I haven't slept well for a couple months now.

So....definitely having to pace myself.

Any SINGERS-turned-PRODUCERS or AUDIO ENGINEERS out there? 🙌 As an 18 year old college student, there were very few options for someone who simply loved to write songs, sing those songs and create harmonies all day.
