Tonight! KIOS' Pop Up Cinema - Free Event

Tonight! Come hang out with Omaha Public Radio for the second screening in our documentary film series at the beautiful Millwork Commons! Tonight, Friday January 26th from 7-910 PM This month we are screening the documentary "Factory to the Workers" Stick around after the screening for a lively discussion with other attendees, as well as Joshua Labure, host of KIOS at the movies. Synopsis: In Croatia in 2005, a machine tools factory was occupied by its workers. Since then, they have operated collectively, becoming the only successful example of a worker occupation in post-socialist Europe. Today, as they seek a new model of collective ownership, the microcosmic world of the factory clashes with the forces of the globalized market economy, having an increasingly brutal impact on wages and the organization of the factory, causing rising disaffection among the workers.

KIOS NYE 2023 - Toast of the Nation

An NPR tradition since 1979, Toast of the Nation is the perfect soundtrack for New Years Eve. It's festive jazz you can party to, all night long. This year, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra will kick off the party at 9:00, followed by vocalist Lizz Wright at 10:00. At 11:00, it's Red Baraat and at midnight, Japanese pianist Hiromi ushers in 2024!
