It is predicted that the area will be affected by a powerful winter storm tonight into Tuesday. It is predicted that tonight will bring with it the first batch of snowfall in northeast Nebraska. On Monday morning, a second bout of snow is expected to arrive from the southwest. It is probable to experience heavy snowfall at rates higher than one inch per hour, particularly on Monday afternoon. Monday night and Tuesday morning will see the conclusion of the snowfall, with the possibility of wind gusts as high as 40 mph. Tuesday morning there is a chance of blowing and drifting snow, particularly to the west of US-77.
