Date Idea: Cocktail Tasting
DATE IDEA: cocktail tasting
Location: Anna’s Place Omaha (21+)
You’ve seen me post about Anna’s Place before — it’s no secret I’m a fan of theirs!
Anna’s Place is an (independently owned) speakeasy hidden inside Hotel Indigo in downtown Omaha.
Every month Anna's Place hosts “a cocktail thing” where you can get a sneak peek of all the new drinks coming to their menu before anyone else gets to try them. Pair that with small bites from The Pie Fairy and short stories about how each cocktail came to be — it makes for a great date, whether that’s a friend date, romantic date, or whatever.
The next event is on Oct 27th and there are still some tickets left. Snag yours on their website soon cause seating is always very limited! The theme this month is Brothers Grimm, so it’s sure to be a fun way to kick off the week of Halloween 👻🥃
Thanks to Anna’s Place for our tickets to last month’s event!

Omaha Restaurant Week 2024
Omaha Restaurant Week starts TOMORROW!
This is the perfect excuse to find a new favorite spot to eat around town 🍲
From September 13th-22nd, FIFTY local restaurants are offering a 3-course dinner. Part of the proceeds goes to Food Bank for the Heartland, so you’re not just enjoying a bite to eat. You’re dining for a cause.
See visitomaha.com for a list of participating restaurants at the $20, $30, $40, and $50 price points — along with their menus.
Thanks to Visit Omaha, we got a preview of Omaha Restaurant Week at The Tenant. Their entire ORW menu can be made gluten free (yay) and it was so delicious! Of course we had to check out their rooftop bar while we were there 🥂
Gluten Free Spots in Omaha - Part 3
It’s been a while since I’ve posted a roundup of spots in town with gluten free options! This is part 3 of my favorites — see the rest of the list on our website.

5. Cumbia - tapas bar & restaurant
6. Salted Edge

Chocolaterie Stam
Here’s your guide to Chocolaterie Stam - Papillion
Location: Shadow Lake Towne Center
Need a little pick-me-up? I’ve got the perfect spot for you!
At Chocolaterie Stam, you’ll find European chocolates (made in DSM) and gelato (made in-house at the Papillion location), plus a drink menu so you can grab a coffee, tea, butterbeer, or hot chocolate while you enjoy your sweet treats.
Among the chocolates we sampled, I OF COURSE had to try the chocolate shaped like an ear of corn.
For my friends with dietary restrictions — Chocolaterie Stam marks their dairy free items and marks which items contain gluten. They also have a selection of sugar free options. Because of the way the items are handled and stored, there is a risk of cross contamination, so you’ll need to decide whether or not that works for you 🤍
Thanks to Chocolaterie Stam in Papillion for sponsoring this post!

Their farm market is open July through October and carries more than 40 varieties of produce and herbs, plus other goodies from local vendors. They also have a you-pick flower field and a kid zone with a play area and petting zoo. And their greenhouse is open in the springtime. Here’s your guide to the Holland Performing Arts Center.
Location: downtown Omaha
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a show at the Holland and this one did not disappoint! The venue itself is always neat to check out. And the staff makes it such a smooth experience all around.
This performance venue hosts a wide variety of shows! From music artists, Omaha Symphony performances, comedy shows, and more — there’s something for everyone here.
NOTE: Ticket Omaha is the only verified ticket source for the Holland Center. If you plan to attend a show at the Holland, always purchase through Ticket Omaha! That way if anything happens, the box office team can look up your order. If you purchase through a 3rd party, they can’t access your order, and you also wouldn’t be notified about show cancellations, etc. So do yourself a favor and buy through Ticket Omaha to avoid potential issues 🤍
Thanks to Omaha Performing Arts for tickets to see Joss Stone!
🚙 Parking
You have several options for parking:

There is no dress code to attend a show at the Holland! I saw people wearing a wide variety of clothes — jeans, dresses, shorts, etc. As always though, wear what you like and what you feel comfortable in!
