Thurston Community Media Thurston Community Media provides communication resources to build stronger communities. We’re more than television - we are a creative learning community!

Thurston Community Media is a nonprofit media access organization providing training, production, and distribution of digital media. We are contracted by Thurston County and the cities of Olympia, Lacey, and Tumwater to manage the facilities and channels that are made available through local cable franchises. For more than 30 years, individuals and groups have used our facilities, equipment, and s

ervices to produce a prolific catalog of hundreds of thousands of hours of content related to the greater Thurston County region. We’ve mentored thousands of local media producers and content creators on making their own media. Our programming is seen on channels 3, 22, 26, and 77 on Comcast cable system in Thurston County, on channels 3, 22 and 23 on Consolidated Cable in Yelm, and on the internet. We believe that community media is a powerful tool for empowering citizens and building stronger communities.

Innovations HTC focuses on combating human trafficking locally by striving to provide a safe space and serve those affected.

"I'm happy to say, in September we rented our first second step transitional house. It is called the Healing Journey House," said Jeri Moomaw, Executive Director of Innovations HTC, "We are helping individuals who have been identified as trafficked."

This month on Mission Nonprofit we recognize National Human Trafficking Prevention Month. We invited Jeri Moomaw, founder and executive director of Innovations HTC, a nonprofit that is dedicated to combating human trafficking through direct survivor support, national training and awareness.

"Yes, we are survivor-led and indigenous-led," says Jeri Moomaw, "but in the beginning, and still in my heart, everybody that has been affected by trafficking needs to be served."
