Good morning! Today is the release of Bogman! The debut single from my "Irish Tour 2024", which will be out in a couple weeks. A true story.
The album features a cornucopia of PNW musicans, often playing in the Irish idiom, a style I refer to as "nearly Irish". "Bogman" is not one of those, but rather a simple guitar and drum reflection on mortality.

Yesterday as I was rendering the final master for my new album "Irish Tour 2024", Pro Tools quit working. It seems my 2022 Pro Tools would not play nicely with my 2024 Mac any more. I paid my $40 for a Pro Tools support session, which led to me paying $200 for a Pro Tools upgrade. Album complete. The new Pro Tools has Immersive Audio - the ability to place a sound anywhere in a 360 degree sound field around your head, rather than simply right/left stereo. Y'know, like movie theater sound. I am not sure what I think abut this when it comes to making music. Do I care? The future is unwritten.

You need to listen to this today. Originally released in 1979, it is a brilliant gem, long lost in the rubbish heap of time. It is a wandering pop/rock masterpiece. Ray Davies meets Bowie in a sprawling non-linear western space time adventure. I am listening as I write this - a delight!
