Revelore Press Revelore. Cultivating portals to the liminal since 2017.
(8)

Revelore is structured as a rhizome, with multi-passionate creators coming together in community to cross-pollinate and actualize our ideas and dreams into print culture. For one, it is a series of hand-bound dream journals and ledgers, for another, letterpress calendars and posters, and another, a children’s book that imparts age-old starlore. For yet another, it is curating speculative fiction a

nd exploring the novel as grimoire; for two others, it is editing a series of books on folk necromancy; and yet two more, it is dreaming a series of books on plant magic and mysticism into being. In every case, each of these projects comes from a vision of exploring the liminal space between experience and language, that most human of spaces where story – lore – is created, cultivated, and disseminated.

"To talk about the future, we begin with a new relationship with the past. The two are bound up in each other. We enter the future sideways, orthogonally, moving through strange reversals. We enter that cultural horizon of imagination and myth—especially those myths concerning our origins—where back-leaps into tomorrow spring into the realm of possibility. Where time is grasped beyond the comprehension of the waking mind: an unthinkable continuity of the dead, the living, and the unborn."

Jeremy Johnson from Fragments of an Integral Future

What if we were altogether not interested in progressive, directive mythologies of time but reveled in the sheer variegation of cultural complexity? What would an exercise in non-linear history, which would not reject or fixate on linear or progressive movements, but simply recognize them in certain relative contexts, like the flows of a watershed, a root reaching for nutrients, or the patient and patterned flows of geological strata, tell us about the aforementioned big questions (who am I, where did I come from, and where am I going)?

What if we entered history like the rhizome? Could we still arrive at a big picture, scry the patterns of meaning in emergent, macro-historical stories? And finally, what could we learn about our shared planetary futures this way?
..To talk about the future, we begin with a new relationship with the past. The two are bound up in each other. We enter the future sideways, orthogonally, moving through strange reversals: we enter that cultural horizon of imagination and myth—especially those myths concerning our origins—where backleaps into tomorrow spring into the realm of possibility. Where time is grasped beyond the comprehension of the waking mind: an unthinkable continuity of the dead, the living, and the unborn.

Seventy years ago today, on Nov. 15, 1953, astrologer Robert P. Blaschke was born in Santa Monica, California. Over the years, he served the astrological community on many levels, including as president of the Astrological Associations in Oregon and Washington State, as a coordinator for ISAR (International Society for Astrological Research), as a teacher in community colleges, bookshops, and his own school, and as a featured speaker in conferences and organizations around North America, Australia and Serbia, and as a writer in publications such as The Mountain Astrologer, KOSMOS, NCGR Memberletter. On January 18, 2011, Robert left the earthly plane, far too soon.

Blaschke’s immense contributions to astrology continue have ripple effects amongst practitioners today. At the United Astrology Congress in New Orleans in 2012, Blaschke was posthumously awarded The Marion D. March Regulus Award for Discovery, Innovation and Research. His books, however, remain difficult to find, and so, on what would have been his 70th birthday, Revelore Press is thrilled to announce that we are producing second editions of his indispensable Astrology: A Language of Life series:

Progressions (Vol. 1)
Sabian Aspect Orbs (Vol. 2)
A Handbook for the Self-Employed Astrologer (Vol. 3)
Relationship Analysis (Vol. 4), and
Holographic Transits (Vol. 5).

First published by Earthwalk School of Astrology from 1999 to 2006, these works contain some of the most valuable teachings on technical astrology, from synodic cycles, lesser known progression techniques, synastry, phase angle returns, and a compassionate transmission of how to set up one’s own professional practice, and much, much more.

Robert Hand, in his foreword to Volume 1, Progressions, says, “This book should advance the study of progressions in astrology on both the practical and theoretical level and for this we owe Robert Blaschke a vote of thanks.”

Thank you, Robert Blaschke. You left us too soon. Revelore is delighted to bring these volumes back into wide circulation. To stay notified of progress on this project, please write to [email protected]

“To be taken by Mother, to be devoured by her and reborn as her child, as her Witch, as her lover (often as all three, simultaneously), is to taste salvation disguised as damnation. To stitch blooded starlight into your flesh in patterns which exult and exalt the throbbing, slobbering, squirming viscera hidden in the fragile sheath of your epidermis. It is to rip open, rend apart, and ravage the membranous layer of ozone which separates the corporeal spirit from the firmamental one. Red and gold and aching all over: suspended in the sanguine yolk of a gilded egg. Ichor stained, heavy hands, your skeleton sagging beneath the weight of unbearable yearning. She rises inside you, swallowing the river of your spine, and electrifying it into its own sentience. All of your body will weep to feel Her–you will find yourself wanton and begging to be swallowed over and over again. ‘Eat me, eat me, Mother, eat me so that I may Live again’.”
In this pioneering monograph of Stellar Witchcraft and Astrolatry, Sasha Ravitch and Maeg Keane will guide participants through the scarlet ribbon of the Stellar Sea Serpent’s mysterious body of roiling red-light: Hydra, the great Queen Cobra of unending Red Appetite, and one of the most sprawling but occulted and mysterious constellations in our sky. Coming forth in late 2023.

Revel in lore...

Revelore gathers passionate creators and thinkers, magicians and world-builders who cross-pollinate and actualize our ideas, dreams and visions into print culture. We create and curate works on the ethnobotany of magic, folk necromancy, starlore, speculative fiction, and grimoires of tomorrow. In every case, each of these projects comes from a vision of exploring the liminal space between experience and language, that most human of spaces where story – lore – is created, cultivated, and disseminated. Welcome to Revelore.
