We are a musical divination format where questions are answered by picking songs at random and interpreting them as the answers to the question, like picking musical tarot cards. Radio8Ball has been presented on AM and FM radio, live on stages in Seattle, Olympia, LA, Boston, Minneapolis, NYC & Joshua Tree and at festivals, on the web and for televised rebroadcast.

Two weeks ago we released the film of Radio8Ball at International Association for the Study of Dreams with Bart Davenport .

Today the video has over a HUNDRED THOUSAND views.

I knew synchronizing the dreamers in Ashland with Bart's music, and my own particular brand of chaos magick, would yield exciting results. It's nice when the work pays off in this kind of positive response.

Bart has been a guest on every iteration of this show from KAOS Community Radio in the early 00's to Starburns Industries, Inc. in the twenty-teens. His performance at this event, as you will see and hear in the posts that are to follow over the next week and half, deeply grounded our synchronicities with his gentle, soulful and wry songs and always cool demeanor.

Please do yourself a favor and seek Bart out wherever you stream your music. If you're lucky enough to be somewhere he is playing live, just go. You won't regret it.

Today is release day for my new single “Get Outta My Head” from my upcoming album Recognize, De-escalate & De-code (due in April).

The song is currently streaming on all the platforms.

After decades in exile, I’m hoping this new music finds those friends I lost when The Previous broke up and later, when I stopped touring, and even later, when my online support for the political campaigns of Bernie Sanders led to a lot of bruised egos and damaged friendships. In the interim, I’ve been radio DJ, a booking agent, a bartender, an author, a talent manager, a corporate grifter, an autograph w***e and a podcaster. I think these experiences made me a better artist, but I have nothing to compare it to. Maybe being wildly successful would have made me an even better artist.

I wrote a blog post at PreviouslyYours about “Get Outta My Head” and its origins. I’ll post it in the comments below.

I know it's been a while since we've done a Radio8Ball post, and we have an official episode coming out next week for 8/8, the high holy day of synchronicity, but in honor of the passing of the great Chuck E. Weiss I pulled together all three of his appearances on Radio8Ball with All Day Sucker, Don Heffington, Paul Body & Eleni Mandell. These are sessions full of laughter and songs and friendship and even a few tears. If all I'd ever done was see him play with The Goddamned Liars back in the days of The Central in LA he would have been a profound influence on me, and getting to share synchronicity with him towards the end really left his mark on me in a way I'm feeling a lot this week.
