HORSE THEFT SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN TWIN HILLS CASE
OKMULGEE COUNTY, OK— The Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) has announced the arrests of two suspects in connection with the theft of several horses from the Twin Hills area. The investigation, which began after the thefts occurred, was bolstered by witness accounts and video evidence.
Key evidence in the case included surveillance footage showing a white dually truck and stock trailer used in the commission of the theft. Still images from the video were shared on the OCSO page, generating valuable leads that helped investigators track down the stolen horses. All but one of the horses were recovered at a sale barn in a neighboring county.
As the investigation progressed, additional information led to the identification and arrest of two suspects, who were subsequently booked into the Okmulgee County Jail on complaints of larceny of domestic animals. Their names have not yet been released as the case remains active.
Sheriff Eddy E. Rice expressed gratitude to the community for sharing the theft information on social media, emphasizing the critical role public involvement played in resolving the case. “There is no doubt that the sharing of this information helped lead investigators to the suspects and recover the horses,” Sheriff Rice said.
Sheriff Rice also commended the teamwork between Deputy Cody Deming and Investigator Wade, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the patrol and investigations divisions in achieving successful outcomes.
The OCSO reminds the public that arrests are not convictions, and the case will be referred to the District Attorney for prosecution. No further information will be released at this time.
