2 Corinthians 5: 16-21

So from now on we regard no one from a human point of view, according to worldly standards and values. Though we have known Christ from a human point of view, now we no longer know Him in this way. Therefore if anyone is in Christ - that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior - he is a new creature, reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit. The old things have passed away; behold, he is made new. All these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, making us acceptable to Him, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, so that by our example we might bring others to Him. God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people’s sins against them but rather canceling them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation, which is restoration of a right relationship with Father God.

So we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us; we as Christ’s representatives plead with you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to the Father. He made Christ who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God. In other words, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious superabundant lovingkindness.

Malachi 3: 1-7

“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will prepare and clear the way before Me. And the Lord, the Messiah, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts.

But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderer’s soap which removes impurities and uncleanness. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old and as in ancient years.

“Then I will come near you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against sorcerers, against adulterers, against perjurers, and against those who oppress the laborer in his wages and widows and the fatherless, and against those who turn away the foreigner from his right, and those who do not fear Me with awe-filled reverence,” says the Lord of hosts.

“For I am the Lord, I do not change, but remain faithful to My covenant with you; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, have not come to an end. “Yet from the days of your fathers you have turned away from My statutes and ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.

Mark 2: 1-12

Jesus returned to Capernaum and a few days later the news went out that He was at home. Then so many people gathered together that there was no longer room, not even near the door; and Jesus was discussing the word of God. A paralyzed man was then brought to him, being carried by four men. When they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above Jesus; and when they had dug out an opening, they let down the mat on which the paralyzed man was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” But some of the scribes were sitting there debating in their hearts, “Why does this man talk that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins except God alone?”

Immediately Jesus, being fully aware of their hostility and knowing in His spirit that they were thinking this, said to them, “Why are you debating and arguing about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, pick up your mat and walk’? But so that you may know that the Son of Man has the authority and power to forgive sins” - He turned to the paralyzed man and said - “I say to you, get up, pick up your mat and go home.” He immediately got up, picked up the mat and went out before them all, and they were all absolutely astonished. They glorified and praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

1 John 1: 1-9

I am writing about what has existed from the beginning, what we ourselves have heard, have seen with our own eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life - the One who existed even before the beginning of the world, Christ - and the Life was manifested, and we have seen it as eyewitnesses and testify and declare to you the Life, the eternal Life who was with the Father and was made visible to us. What we have seen and heard we also proclaim to you, so that you too may have fellowship as partners with us. And indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. We are writing these things to you so that our joy may be made complete, by having you share in the joy of salvation.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and now announce to you, that God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we really walk in the Light, as He Himself is in the Light, we have true, unbroken fellowship with one another - He with us, and we with Him - and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we freely admit and confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and continually cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Revelation 21: 1-7

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of Heaven from God, arrayed like a bride adorned for her husband; and then I heard a loud voice from the Throne, saying, “See! The tabernacle of God is among men, and He will live among them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be death; there will no longer be sorrow and anguish, or crying, or pain; for the former order of things has passed away.”

And He who sits on the Throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true." And He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the one who thirsts I will give living water from the fountain of life without cost. They who overcome the world by remaining faithful to Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord will inherit these things, and I will be their God, and they will be My sons and daughters.

1 Peter 4: 7-11

The end and culmination of all things is near. Therefore, be sound-minded and self-controlled for the purpose of prayer, staying balanced and focused on the things of God so that your communication will be clear, reasonable, specific and pleasing to Him. Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaint. Just as each one of you has received a special gift, a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God, employ it in serving one another as is appropriate for good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace. Whoever speaks should do so as one who speaks the very oracles of God, and whoever serves should do so as one who serves by the strength which God Himself abundantly supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to Whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Galatians 6: 1-10

Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are led by the Spirit are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness, not with a sense of superiority or self-righteousness, keeping a watchful eye on yourself, so that you yourself are not also tempted. Carry one another’s burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks they are something special, when in fact they are nothing, they deceive themselves. But each one must carefully examine their own work, then they will have the personal satisfaction and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing themselves to another. For each person will have to bear with patience their own burden of faults and shortcomings for which they alone are responsible.

The one who is taught the Word of God is to share all good things with their teacher. Do not be deceived, for God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, this and this only will he reap. For the one who sows to their flesh will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, while we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people - not only being helpful, but also doing that which promotes their spiritual well-being - and especially be a blessing to those of the household of faith.

Matthew 13: 31-32, 44-46

Then He gave them some parables to consider, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field; and of all the seeds planted in the region it is the smallest, but when it has grown it is the largest of the garden herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air find shelter in its branches. The kingdom of heaven is also like a very precious treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field, securing the treasure for himself. And again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; upon finding one single pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought that pearl."

Romans 15: 1-9

Now we who are strong in our convictions and faith ought to patiently put up with the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not just please ourselves. Let each one of us make it a practice to please his neighbor for his good, to build him up spiritually. For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, “the reproaches of those who reproached the Father fell on the Son.” For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope and overflow with confidence in His promises.

Now may the God who gives endurance and who supplies encouragement grant that you be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify and praise and honor the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, continue to accept and welcome one another, just as Christ has accepted and welcomed us to the glory of our great God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant and a minister to the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm and verify the promises made to the fathers, and for the Gentiles to glorify God for His mercy to them, since God had no covenant with them.

Romans 13: 8-12

Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “you shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are all summed up in this word: “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. Besides this, you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then, let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.

2 Corinthians 4: 6-10

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give us the Light of the knowledge of the glory and majesty of God clearly revealed in the face of Christ. But we have this precious treasure - the good news about salvation - in unworthy earthen vessels of human frailty, so that the grandeur and surpassing greatness of the power will be shown to be from God (His sufficiency) and not from ourselves. We are pressured in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted to stand alone; struck down, but never destroyed; always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be shown in our body.
