So incredibly proud of former intern, now colleague Tyler Jenkins for landing his first big orchestral recording gig with the incredible

Tyler has been interning and shadowing with us on our sessions since summer 2023 on seven albums, two movies, and live orchestral, opera, choir, and wind symphony recordings. When we saw the posting by the NRO for a summer audio engineer we knew he’d be perfect for the job! Tyler also just graduated from with his bachelors in audio production - he hustled, worked hard, grew his knowledge, and did everything right to be ready to thrive in the music industry.

Onyx Lane Interns showing UP for the session at for Tess Remy-Schumacher. They handled setup, teardown, a hefty mid-session ensemble switch, and running the Tools when C&P jumped in to play. Special Guest and alumni made a special appearance with the stick, and ‘s .glaubfather sang some icy tunes. All in all a good Sunday.

Show some love for Zack (intern-in-training) and (not pictured, tried to give her the first day off in two years, she ended up setting her own gigs and doing those - ).

Recently I (Christina) had the pleasure of sitting down with Doug Hill and man, I must say he really has his finger on the pulse of the arts in Norman, Oklahoma! It was such an honor for him to write this feature on me and my eyes 👀 almost fell out when I saw the size of my picture when I opened the newspaper! It was so fun to get to talk about some of the incredible people I have worked with. And thank you to all that have already shared this - it means the world to have your support. ❤️

Alicia Smith is so freaking talented, and this was done with a super team including uber-amazing choreographer and one of our favourite artcollab buddies Maggie Boyett. Alicia had such a clear vision of what she wanted the soundtrack to be, and we jumped at the chance to merge Mars Rover recordings, Bat Sounds, and Alicia's incredible voice into one of the coolest audio projects we've been a part of.

Field Projects is pleased to present Alicia Smith Solo Exhibition, TOCI : Chapter 1. This will be the second time Smith has shown with FP and her first Solo Exhibition in New York.

Employing the PostModern technique of Historical Fabrication, the Xicana artist, Alicia Smith weaves together science fiction and Aztec cosmology to tell the story of a group of women who escaped the conquest in a pyramid that landed on Mars. With a mix of costuming, ritual objects, and performance, Chapter 1 invites viewers to imagine an alternate reality where sacred knowledge and practices are fully intact and privileged over Western concepts....

The Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary PBS Special airs this week!

Oklahomies, tune in to watch the to watch the Celtic Woman 20th Anniversary Concert PBS Special on OETA ( Oklahoma Educational Television Authority ) this Thursday, November 30th at 7:00PM and Saturday, December 2nd at 9:00PM with orchestral sessions recorded in Purcell, Oklahoma produced and arranged by Brian Byrne, contracting and additional conducting by Christina Giacona, engineered and edited by Patrick Conlon, and featuring the Oklahoma Film Orchestra!

Homies who aren't Okies - check your local PBS station for watch times.

It was wonderful to work with an international team based in Oklahoma, Boston, and Ireland to put this together! Having a 6-hour time difference makes for some really efficient 48 hour days!

What a life changing experience at with this past week. is one of the most patient, kind, and insightful humans I have ever met on this planet, and getting the chance to have him walk us through not only how to record and mix but how to live an honorable and beautiful life in the music industry is one of the greatest gifts a teacher has ever given me.

He is a complete master of his art, and every aspect of my approach to creating recorded music has been fundamentally affected by his teaching, from placement, mic selection, conceptualization, experimentation, workflow, editing, resonance control, phase alignment, masking, colour, referencing, width, depth, reverb, and the creation of space to how to fundamentally be a good human while working with clients to create music that resonates directly with the hearts of his listeners.
