Where is Makayla Buckner? That is the question left for her family and a community growing more and more concerned. We have officially reached day five with no word.
Makayla always let them know what she was doing. She has severe scoliosis enabling her to walk even just a 1/2 mile. Her mother, Jennifer, recalls many times Makayla would try and end up calling her to come get her. Even if Makayla's mom was at work.
So, when Makayla's father came home and there was no Makayla to be found, he called her mother for reassurance. When they both realized that they had not heard from Makayla, her mother left work immediately and called 911, because she knew something was wrong. They checked their security and to their surprise Makayla can be seen leaving the house on her own at 9:10am that morning. She took only her cellphone and laptop with her, leaving behind her chargers for both, leaving the family to believe that Makayla planned on returning shortly.
Makayla is an introvert; she likes to stay inside the house and play games online. Her family has contacted all of her local friends and none of them could shed light on where Makayla is or who could have possibly picked her up. So they are trying to turn to her online world. They have had no luck in doing so, Apple needs a warrant and her cellphone and laptop have both either died or been shut off. Password upon passwords, that they do not know. They are pleading with anyone who Makayla might have spoken to about plans or someone she was talking to, to reach out.
The Lima Police Department took the call, but no Amber Alert has been issued. No talk of a search, no talk of anything really. the vibes are that Makayla left willing and was not taken from the house. She does not fit the criteria for an Amber Alert. Though she will be entered into the National Database. According to family, they have been reluctant to respond at all. They just do not want Makayla to fall through the cracks, they are adamant that she did not run away, she was coming back. This has left the family trying to figure out what to do and where to go from here?
Makayla's family has been out searching for her,
"it's hard and we keep going over every route we've gone. Like has it been enough or are we doing enough to find her."
