With a win over Nodaway Valley last night, the Ogden Bulldogs are in the 1A football playoffs. However, it won't be an easy night as they hit the road to take on Dike-New Hartford, the 2nd ranked team in their class.

It was a tough night on Friday night for the Ogden football team as they welcomed Woodward-Granger in for Homecoming. The Bulldogs fell in a 49-20 setback.

Woodward-Granger scored on their first possession and put the 'Dogs into an early 7-0 hole. The Hawks continued to score at a rapid pace in the second period and led 42-0 at the half.

Ogden was able to score the last 20 points of the game to salvage some pride on the night.

They fall to 1-4 on the year. Ogden hits the road next week as they travel to South Hamilton.

This afternoon saw the celebration of Ogden Homecoming. Earlier on there was a parade which saw this year's Top Dogs, Homecoming court, the middle school band, the high school band and a few floats.

Everything then shifted to the MS/HS gym for a pep rally which saw the class iMovies shown for Homecoming along with the teachers. Seniors from football, volleyball, cross country, FFA and other clubs spoke about how their fall has been going.

Then it was time to honor year's Top Dogs. Going in this year were Jessica Zellweger-Siler, John Donelson, Kevin Junck, Darwin McComb and Doug McComb.

Finally, it was time to crown the 2024 Homecoming King and Queen. Owen Bergstrom was named King and Sam Lass the Queen.

Tonight at 7 p.m. will be the football game against the Woodward-Granger Hawks.

Chase and Alexis were located by law enforcement in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their families have been notified, and they are being held until they can be reunited with their parents/guardians.

A picture of Chase’s girlfriend, 16 year old Alexis Hartley Fuller, has been added to this post.

Recent information suggests that both Chase and Alexis are runaways and are believed to be in the area of Clay County, South Dakota.

Deputies with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to work with other agencies to locate these kids.

Chase and his girlfriend attended a homecoming dance in Johnston, IA on September 21, 2024 and neither one returned home. If you have any information please contact Boone County Communications Center at 515.433.0527.

Today was a historic day at the Iowa Arboretum & Gardens. It was the ribbon cutting on the long-anticipated Treehouse Village that has been in the works for four years. The village officially opens to the public tomorrow morning.

Halftime sees Ogden down 24-0 against South Hamilton. The Hawks scored on the first play from scrimmage and added another score in the first quarter. They scored again with a few minutes left in the half. Ogden got a stop on defense and moved the ball but the half ended before they could get on the scoreboard.

Ogden improves to 3-1 and 1-0 in district play after a 29-14 win over Grand View Christian. The Bulldogs got on the board in the 3rd with a Colby Rohe sneak. GVC answered with a drive of their own to make it 22-6 going to the 4th. A Cayden Dudley strip sack led to a long TD fumble return by Carson Mueggenberg score. GVC scored late.

Halftime in Ogden sees the Bulldogs pitching a strong defensive effort, up 16-0 against Grand View Christian. Ogden struck first on a deep ball from Colby Rohe to Keaton Westburg. Another defensive stand led to a long drive capped off with a 4 yard run from Cayden Dudley to make it 13-0 in the first quarter. The Bulldogs continued to play strong defense in the 2nd, and Matthew Samuelson drilled a field goal to make it 16-0 late in the 2nd. Ogden will start with the ball in the 3rd quarter.

What a thriller in Perry tonight. Ogden takes a 20-14 contest over Perry. Ogden got back on the board early in the 4th with a 34 yard TD pass from Colby Rohe to Quintin Hoskins. Perry came back with a long drive with a 3 yd score and 2 pt conversion to make it 14-all. Ogden punted the ball away and Perry drove again. Enter Keaton Westberg who read a Bluejay throw, picked it off and made a house call with 19 seconds left to get the Ogden win. Bulldogs improve to 2-1 and host Grand View Christian next week.

Ogden gets their first win of the Tyler Lloyd Era, 35-16 over Manson-NW Webster. Neither team found success in the 3rd. Ogden score on a Cayden Dudley plunge but Manson answered. The 'Dogs sealed it late with a Caleb Wisecup TD catch. Ogden heads to Perry next week. Here is a post game interview with Coach Lloyd. Photo gallery in morning.

Ogden scored on their first drive, a 2 yd plunge by Nathan Comer, and after the defense forced a 3 and out, Colby Rohe connected with Keaton Westberg on a 45 yd score. The 'Dogs suffered a turnover but forced a safety soon there after following a big sack by Cayden Dudley. Dudley capped off the ensuing drive with a 10 yard run, making it 22-0. Manson scored late in the half to make it the score. Here is Dudley's 10 yard run for 6.

Fun time at the Leonard A. Good Public Library as musican and children's author Chad Elliott is putting on a show for the summer reading program.

Fun morning at the Ogden City Park as Mr. Taylor Sings is entertaining a good crowd this morning. Photos to come later.

Ogden's junior varsity spilt against Panorama with the girls falling and the boys winning. Varsity girls warming up as the Ogden pep band rocks out at Wells Fargo Arena.
