HOW BORING.
The top 4 coffee shops' feeds all look the same.
Why should I follow? To see a hand holding a drink. No, thanks.
Each brand has its unique thing, so why not capitalize on that?
Starbucks:
• Consumers live for the unofficial, secret menus created by their peers. Share UGC and trending drinks.
• There are a lot of tagged posts with dogs - while pup cups aren't a bottom line driver, it's what consumers are interested in and like to see - your feed shouldn't be 100% promotional.
Dunkin':
• Embrace nostalgia - it's trendy, plus Dunkin' has been around for decades, is a cultural icon and represents tradition.
• While you can't get Dunkin' everywhere, tagged content shows everywhere people like to take it. This is very different from other brands' tagged content. There's something to this.
Peet's Coffee:
• Tagged content leans heavily on at-home content, not on-premise. Share home brewing tips and recipe ideas.
Caribou Coffee:
• A lot of their tagged content includes books. Promote reading culture. Create book-themed promos (BookIt, anyone?). What about trendy book and drink pairings?
C'mon, it's so easy - it's right there.
