Took out Sean, Mike and John to try for Cobia. Hit a few school but only bluefish. Then found the right one and instant hook up on a 30-35 pound Cobia. Fish fought hard and gave us two beautiful jumps. Had him 40’ from boat on surface and he started to violently headshake and was able to set himself free from the hook and earn his freedom. After that we had a shark and some more bluefish bites. Decided to hit the reef with bucktails and gulp. Great life , mostly shorts but managed 3 beautiful fat keeper fluke.

Took out Jamie and his pals on his sweet 22 Cobia to search for Cobia. Much slower action then yesterday but they did manage this 37.50” keeper for the table. Enjoy fellas.

Beautiful 45 # Cobia for David today plus a second one lost. Had 10+ sharks with some real nice black tips giving us aerial shows, and ripping drag off the spinning reels.

In this months magazine are my hands showing the new awesome dual edge blade by a precision fillet knife on one side for perfect fillets and a scallop serrated edge on the other to get through the tough scales without dulling your fillet knife. David, Raff and myself headed out on this humid hot day to do a 1/2 day Fluke trip in the bay. Started off netting a bunch of peanuts from the dock then off we went. The life was great with tons of shorts. The guys managed 4 nice keepers to 22”

Pretty sad day here in the Island Park, Oceanside, Freeport area as we lost a great mentor, friend and a wrecking machine of a fisherman. Joe was a kind loving giving man, him and his beautiful wife Carmela Masone always welcomed everyone with open arms. From island park to their winter getaway in Florida, you were always welcomed. What the hrll is going on with Amazon? In the last month I had 3 package notifications say my package may be lost yet they still charged me. Now you have to call Amazon to get refunded which we all know is a pain in the dick trying to find a number to call to speak to a live agent. But what happened this week is a real doozy. My wife bought me a new Daiwa reel for father’s day. The reel came in but guy would not deliver. He said he needs a code. She tells him to call me. Keep in mind I’m on the boat fishing. So he calls me and tells me he needs the code. I explained I never heard of this but go on my Amazon app and find the reel and see a code and tell him it. This must be something new. no biggie and he leaves the package. I come home excited to open my new Daiwa Corporation - USA spinning reel but to my surprise inside the box was an old Penn spinning reel and not what Jen ordered. Has this ever happened to anyone or have you noticed packages going lost and never showing up at your doorstep or they keep changing delivery expected dates? WTF Amazon.

Fished the Nassau County Police Department’s annual Fluke tournament on Dave’s beautiful 26’ Fortier this Tuesday. We picked away and landed 8 keepers to over 20” but nothing big enough to weigh in. A big thank you to my buddy Dave for always inviting me on this trip. The after party weigh in was awesome and our crew won 3 rod and reel set ups and a jar of Gulp. Till next year.

Karl tried bass on the half shell for the first time and loved it. Him and I put the whole fillet down. If you never tried this way of cooking striper fillet it’s worth a try. The fish stays super moist and juicy.
