There was a lockdown at Texarkana Middle School earlier this afternoon that was called all clear by TPD after investigation turned up no threat.
This apparently started from a 911 call from inside the school about a person that was seen running across the campus. All precautions were taken and due to different information being received at the time, situation was handled as a possible active shooter event.
After the all clear was called, it was determined that the person spotted was possibly a shoplifter from the Walmart on Summerhill Road.

Update: Campus is closed all day today. Online and on-campus exams scheduled for today will be held on Thursday, May 12, at the same time as they were to be held today.

The NWS Shreveport has now issued a Flash Flood Watch that includes Bowie County through 7:00 PM Saturday. 3-5 inches of rain are reported to have already fallen across our area with another 3-5 inches more possible through this timeframe.
