Annual Mobile Sport Fishing Vehicle Permits for Island Beach State Park and North Brigantine Natural Area have sold out.

A select number of Weekday Only Mobile Sport Fishing Vehicle Permits for Island Beach State Park will be released in the coming days, stay tuned for an announcement.

The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) and its Atlantic Striped Bass Management Board voted today to send the striped bass regulatory considerations through to the full ASMFC as an addendum. What this means is that in 2025 the ASMFC will be looking at ways to reduce mortality sometime in 2026, with public hearings and discussions to ensue during the winter of 2025 and on through to the annual ASMFC meeting next fall. More to come, but the key takeaway here is that there won't be any changes to the striped bass regulations in 2025.

Augie Conte III, our new OCFC president, will participate in Mike Sheppard's "Shep on Fishing" radio program this Saturday, November 30, 2024. The show airs at 7a.m. on WOND 1400-AM and ends at 8 a.m.

He'll give a wrap up of the year at OCFC, and discuss the Blue Team's fourth successive year as ASAC champions for 2024. The Blue Team scored 110 points, beating the second place team by five points over the course of the ASAC tournament series.

OCFC's Drew Furst racked up the most fish points among men in the ASAC tournament, while Trisha Daley amassed the most fish points and largest fish points, both in the women's group. Tyler Daley came in second in most fish points for men. In addition, Drew's two sons, Mason and Rolan, each scored firsts in two categories, Largest Fish Points and Most Fish Points in the Youth- and Youth-Assisted groups, respectively.

Augie will also be prepared to discuss other OCFC fishing events and Hatteras tournament results.

Wanted to thank the Ocean City fishing club for all the hard fishing this season! Special shout out to my team Captain Tyler Daley for putting my two boys on the team this year! The boys had a great season finishing 1st place in both most fish points and largest fish points in the youth division along with landing on top of the podium with the team!
