The Haze will be back on WEES in its usual time slot of 7 to 10 p.m. Eastern tomorrow evening, with three commercial-free hours of great music from the 60s and beyond. Among the artists we will hear from are the Who, who made headlines with the reported dismissal from the group of their long-serving drummer Zak Starkey due to his performance at a benefit concert last month at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Longtime fans of the group were amused to learn the reason why Zak, whose predecessor as Who drummer was the late Keith Moon, was dismissed: supposedly overplaying. When the dust settled, he was back with the group and all was well.

If you are within the range of our WEES broadcast signal, please tune into the Haze on 107.9 MHz FM, or stream us globally at https://www.wees.org. You can also listen via free downloadable radio apps like TuneIn, or over smart speaker devices (“Alexa, play WEES radio”). For updates, please follow WEES Radio on Facebook.

I hope you will join me Thursday night for some fine music on a spring evening.

This is the playlist from last evening’s Haze program on WEES. It was in tribute to the late Rick “The Doctor” Bohs, host of the long-running Rock N’ Soul Time Machine music program. I thank you all for listening last night.
As I mentioned during the show, Bob Wigo will be airing recordings of some of the Doctor’s more recent programs on his music streaming platform, WIGOradio, beginning this Saturday morning, April 19, at 10 a.m. Eastern. If you didn’t catch it, the link to listen is https://tinyurl.com/23mx83wy. You will know you are in the right place because you will see the site’s logo, the image of an old-time microphone with the words “WIGO Radio” under it. Bob’s taste in music is as impeccable as the Doctor’s! I will be tuning in at Rick’s regular time for that familiar voice. Thank you, Bob.
Rest in peace, Rick. You were the best. There was truly no other like that brother.

Earlier today, Rick “The Doctor” Bohs was laid to rest in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, surrounded by family and friends. For over nine years, he hosted the beloved Saturday morning Rock and Soul Time Machine program on WEES. Last year, he moved to Pennsylvania to receive medical treatment for the illness that sadly took his life last week. Rick was a kind and generous soul who helped many of us, myself included, get our start at WEES. Though no one could replicate his encyclopedic knowledge of music, I will honor his memory tomorrow night on the Haze, from 7 to 10 p.m.

If you are within the range of our WEES broadcast signal, please tune in on 107.9 MHz FM, or stream us worldwide at [https://www.wees.org](https://www.wees.org/). You can also listen via free downloadable radio apps like TuneIn, or ask your smart speaker to “play WEES radio.” Follow WEES Radio right here on Facebook for updates.

I’ll share three commercial-free hours of Motown, the Beatles, the British Invasion, Philly classics, and highlights from Bruce Springsteen’s historic show at London’s Hammersmith Odeon- 50 years ago this year. Fans of Rick’s show will recognize the vibe. That’s no accident.

I know that the WEES stream will reach wherever the Doctor is now- loud and strong. I hope you will join us.

This is the playlist from last evening’s Haze program on WEES. As always, thank you for listening.

Sadly, Rick (the “Doctor”) Bohs passed away suddenly yesterday at his home in Philadelphia in the company of his devoted wife Kathy. He was a fixture at WEES for ten years, most recently bringing his infectious love for and encyclopedic knowledge of music to listeners every Saturday morning with his program, The Rock and Soul Time Machine. About a year ago, Rick moved from the beach to Philadelphia to receive medical treatment for the illness that ultimately took his life. Despite these challenges, he continued to produce his program from home, which was aired on WIGORadio, a terrific music streaming platform operated by another WEES alumnus and friend, Bob Wigo. We will all terribly miss The Doctor, his enthusiasm and kind generosity of spirit, which shone through in his radio program and his life. May he rest in peace.

Great news, WEES is streaming once again.

Music lovers, this week 13 April, we're very pleased to have King Size Dreams in the studio to perform some songs off his new album.

We'll start with the Alt Rock Chaser this weekend and wrap up with the Bourbon Hour, Blues with a Burn.

So, gather around the radio or your streaming device Sunday, 13 April, with your spouse (or dog) to relax and listen to some modern blues and alternative rock to shake up the ole OC (Ocean City, MD that is).

Coming to you from our beachhead studios located at the Gold Coast Mall in Ocean City, MD, please join me, Sunday 13 April, 7 - 9 pm EDST, on WEES 107.9 FM, WEES.org or just say, "Alexa, play WEES radio."

04/08/2025

With the welcome restoration of WEES’s streaming capability, the Haze will return to its usual time slot of 7 to 10 p.m. this Thursday evening. Highlights will include a second preview track from Strike Up the Band, the much awaited new album by the inspiring current version of Little Feat due May 9, and a new-to-us song from Bruce Springsteen’s Tracks II: The Lost Albums, a box set of seven unreleased albums recorded between 1983 and 2018, out on June 27. Plus, lots of other great music from the 60s and beyond, presented commercial-free.

For updates, please follow WEES Radio right here on Facebook.

I missed last week’s program because I was attending a terrific family function in Chicago. The 14-hour drive to and from that event provided me ample opportunity to enjoy door-to-door music as the over 800 miles in each direction simply melted away. If, like me, you are a dedicated percussionist/driver, as a public service, I enclose a diagram of the steering wheel area indicating the precise location of each drumming function. I found it invaluable to maximizing my enjoyment of the soundtrack of the journey in both directions. Come June 27, I plan on a car outing of appropriate duration to enjoy the over five hours of new Bruce music. Asbury Park is glorious in the summer. Mad Dog Lopez and the ghost of Madame Marie call out to me.

Whether you listen in your car or your favorite recliner, I hope you will join me Thursday night for some great recordings.
