Abby learned to play cello through public schools in Pasadena, CA, beginning in the third grade. Once she was no longer a student in that environment, she no longer had access to the cello. She is now a community doula and mother of three children, all of whom are playing instruments in Berkeley Unified School District. Returning to her cello practice after a decade and a half felt like a return to self. It’s a joy to be part of a culture that values access to the arts, and Abby delights in opportunities to share her skill.
