The term “parasocial relationship” can be controversial. Some people think they’re just unhealthy obsessions, but these connections can be really beneficial in the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth.

For some q***r people, seeing themselves reflected online makes them feel accepted and joyful. That can foster hope that they will find their place in the world, and that hope can be life-saving.
