PSA: I'm so sorry I've been out of the picture!! Here's why and here's me being vulnerable and honest because I know now it's ok to put yourself out there.....

I've always known that taking care of our mental health was important and actually crucial for not only surviving but being happy while trying to do just that. I've spent the past 2 years going through many ups and downs but mostly downs. I've had some family illnesses, deaths, drama, etc that really took a toll on me. In the midst of all this I switched my antidepressants thinking the one I was on had run its course. I started seeing a therapist for childhood and adulthood trauma to find out I had PTSD for SO MANY things and that I've been living most of my life in survival mode (constant flight or flight). I always thought I was so strong when actually I was masking and pretending. Therapy was great! It forced me to face and deal with all that I had been through. Yes, it was tough as hell but it knew I had to do the work because I was turning into a shell of a person. It also made me realize that you really never know what someone is going through by looking at them because I hid it well! Very well! I also have Fibromyalgia, as many of you know, and it has only gotten worse. There is no cure nor anything that stops the pain completely, so I've been going through a lot of medication change with that also. Many days it's hard to even get out of bed due to the pain alone.

Long story short lol, I am a much different person today and it'll be a life long work in progress but my happiness is the most important thing to me today, so I'll put in the work. I'll also do it to stop generational trauma. I've also decided to stop my antidepressant because of the side effects I have experience with it that I didn't even realize it was causing. If something doesn't feel right, advocate for yourself because no one knows better than yourself when something doesn't feel right. I'm slowly weaning myself off but already feeling alive again and more like myself. That being said, I'm trying to get back into my designing and creating shirts so you'll start seeing posts again. I am so grateful for all of you that have stuck with me through this tough time and my point behind this long post is to bring awareness to mental health and how important it is to advocate for yourself and know that you deserve to be happy. So, if that means taking some time away if you're able, start journaling, start doing for YOU because some many women struggle with that, especially if you're a mom and/or a wife. But what good are you to anyone if you're not happy and healthy?

I hope this helps someone and yes, I am the "shirt lady" but I'm always here if anyone ever needs someone to talk to, advice, vent, in a non judgmental environment. I've learned so much through this and would love to share it and give back.
