Girl, I hear you. As female leaders, we juggle a million things, and sometimes, joy gets lost in the shuffle.

But let's make a pact: this holiday season, we're not waiting for the "right time" for joy. We're integrating it into our daily lives, even when it’s messy or magical.

Think back:

✔️What is the "broken rung"?

The "broken rung" refers to the significant drop in representation of women in leadership positions, particularly at the first step up to manager. For example, in the United States, women make up 47% of the workforce but only 27% of managers and 5% of CEOs.

✔️Why is the "broken rung" a problem?

The "broken rung" is a problem because it prevents talented women from reaching their full potential and contributing to the workplace at the highest levels. It also creates a less inclusive and equitable workplace for everyone.

✔️What can we do to overcome the "broken rung"?

There are a number of things we can do to overcome the "broken rung," both individually and collectively. Here are a few ideas:

🌟Individually:

🔶Develop your leadership skills. Take on leadership roles in your current job, even informal ones. Volunteer to lead projects, mentor others, and share your ideas.

🔶Network with other female leaders. Find a community of women who can support you and help you advance your career.

🔶Speak up and advocate for yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, whether a promotion, a raise, or a new opportunity.

🔷Collectively:

✳️Educate others about the "broken rung." Help people understand the problem and why it's important to address it.

✳️Support organizations that are working to advance women in leadership.

✳️Advocate for policies that promote gender equity in the workplace.

🔥Leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about being willing to ask the right questions.

As female leaders, we often feel pressured to have all the answers, especially when we're in a room full of men.

But the truth is, no one has all the answers. The best leaders are the ones who are willing to ask the right questions. 🌟

When you ask questions, you show that you're open to learning and that you value the input of others. You also build trust and rapport with your team members. And when you ask questions from a place of curiosity and humility, you create a safe space for everyone to share their ideas and insights.

So next time you feel pressured to have all the answers, remember: it's okay not to know everything. Just be willing to ask the right questions.

Here are some examples of the right questions to ask as a leader:

✅What are your thoughts on this?
✅Can you help me understand this better?
✅What are your ideas for how we can improve this?
✅What are your concerns?
✅What are your needs?

💫 Do you know the secret to success?

It's not just hard work and talent but also having the courage to ask for what you deserve. 💪✨

As female leaders, we're often taught to be humble and avoid asking for too much. But let me tell you, that's a mistake.

You deserve to be paid fairly, recognized for your accomplishments, and given the opportunities you need to soar to new heights.

Let me share a powerful story of one of my coaching clients:

👩‍💼 Meet Sam, a high-performing marketing director at a large tech company. Despite consistently exceeding her goals and going the extra mile, she found herself constantly overlooked for promotions. Frustration grew, and the situation seemed bleak.

But then something shifted.

💡 During a coaching session, I asked Sam a simple question: "How often do you ask for a promotion?" Surprisingly, the answer was only once.

Determined to change her trajectory, Sam decided to take matters into her own hands.

She scheduled a meeting with her boss, confidently presenting her accomplishments and explaining why she deserved the promotion she had been striving for.

At first, her boss hesitated, but Sam persisted. She showcased her dedication, commitment, and the significant impact she could make in a more senior role.

Mistakes are inevitable in life, and we all make them. Doesn’t it feel great knowing we are meant to make mistakes? 😀They are an essential part of our learning process. 🌱📚

When I first started leading a team, I didn’t consider myself timid, but I definitely deferred to other leaders who were older than me, and it certainly didn’t help that many of them were white men. ⁠

✅I kept quiet when I should have spoken up. ⁠

✅I said yes when I should have said no. ⁠

✅I kept my head down and worked my butt off instead of asking for help.⁠

It wasn’t until I was in my 30s, working with a coach and a mentor, that I realized that I wasn’t helping myself or my team. ⁠

If I wanted to make a difference, I had to change how I showed up, and how I interacted with other leaders.⁠

📢If you want to make a difference, you must unlock your unlimited potential and embrace your bold leadership like never before! 💪✨⁠

We have a unique opportunity to make a powerful impact when we stop playing small and step into our authentic leadership. Here are 3 reasons WHY owning our boldness is important:⁠

One of the biggest mistakes I see speakers make time and time again is not taking the time to truly understand their audience before stepping on stage. 🙅‍♀️⁠

When you don't invest the time to think about your audience, you miss out on the opportunity to connect with them on a deeper level. 😔⁠

Understanding WHO your audience is, WHAT they care about, and HOW you can help them is the key to delivering a powerful and impactful message. 🗝️⁠
