(Sponsored) 2024 has been a busy year for First Baptist. They have supported Black-owned local businesses during Black History Month, hosted a jazz concert for Lupus awareness, collected household items for four refugee families to help them resettle in the Chicagoland area, helped combat hunger by participating in the 2024 West Hunger Walkathon and volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository, and continue to fight homelessness by preparing meals for Housing Forward patrons. They want to celebrate these milestones with you this holiday season. Come, join them, as they continue to be Christ’s presence in our community. More on www.fbcoakpark.org

Walk Out
Students at Percy Julian Middle School participated in a student-led walkout on Wednesday to protest what they say is a culture that permits “sexual harassment, ‘slut shaming’, and harassment.”
The walkout began at the middle school entrance and was led to Scoville Park where students continued to gather to raise awareness.
Julian interim principal William Lee communicated to families on Tuesday about the planned walk out and said “District 97 does not prohibit students from walking out or engaging in a peaceful protest.”
