Tuesday, Dec 5, 5-8pm: Dickens Downtown
Hosted by The Merchants of Historic Downtown Northport
Free and family-friendly event hosted throughout Main Avenue. Visit the Courtyard of Wonders for Christmas stories read by The Rude Mechanicals! There will also be musical performances, shopping, photos with Santa, and some snow falling on Main Avenue!❄️

Thursday, Dec 7, 5-8pm: Kentuck Art Night
Free and family-friendly event hosted at Kentuck Art Center
This month's Art Night features:
-Museum Gallery: Creative Giving by Kentuck's Studio Artists
-Teer Gallery: Artimals: A Menagerie of Local Artists
-Live music by Evan & James
-Pop up shops
-Craft for children
-Open artists' studios
-Cob oven pizza

At 6:30 PM, please join us in the Museum Gallery to celebrate Kerry Kennedy, who has been a Kentuck Studio Artist since 2006. In 2024, Kerry will be pursuing a new venture and setting up a home studio. Please join us to celebrate Kerry's last Art Night as a Studio Artist.

Downtown Northport is home to several historic businesses. These businesses are ageless, with generations of families utilizing these favorited places for services and goods for decades. One of these historic businesses is the Northport Barbershop, which is set to celebrate 120 years of business in 2024. Recently the Northport Barbershop underwent new ownership, though the historic business is looking forward to continuing their work in Downtown as it has for the last century.

The change comes as now previous owner, Jimmy Crowe, prepares to retire from the business in Downtown. Crowe owned the Northport Barbershop for thirty-seven years and has over fifty years of experience cutting hair in various locations across Northport. When asked what sticks out in his time with the barbershop, Crowe says, “I just love Downtown Northport. I am going to miss it, no doubt. I had 37 years down here and the people are just great, everybody that owns businesses down here is just super. That is one thing that stands out, the people. The customer base we have is just tremendous.” Crowe is passing ownership to Heather Talamo. (Pictured)

🎄 Dickens Downtown 2023! 🎄

Dickens Downtown is an outdoor Victorian Christmas Celebration inspired by “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens.

Guests can expect snow, live music, and caroling, and lots of Christmas spirit. Guests are always encouraged to dress in their best Dickens-era costume!
