The Northbrook Tower The Northbrook Tower is the an award-winning, weekly community newspaper covering Northbrook, Ill., with daily news at www.northbrooktower.com.

The Northbrook Tower is a hyper-local weekly newspaper that gets delivered to Northbrook residents and businesses via the US Postal Service. The paper is set to be delivered on Wednesdays, although a lot of residents receive it on Tuesdays. The term "hyper local" means that we only aim to cover news that directly relates to Northbrook, and only Northbrook. If you would like to pick up extra copies

of an issue, you are more than welcome to stop by our office during regular business hours. We hold newspaper for up to two months, and we sell extra copies for $1 each. If you would like a PDF of a story for your website or to print out, you must be a Plus subscriber to our website, NorthbrookTower.com. Email the editor your subscriber number, the date of the publication and the article you want. If you would like to receive a picture you saw in the paper, its release depends on the photographer who took the photo. Some photographers charge money. If the photo is by 22nd Century Media, you must be a Plus subscriber to receive the photo. Email the editor to find out. Glenbrook North High School senior Sarah Glass celebrated her 18th birthday on March 26. Her mother, Susan, had arranged for dozens of Sarah’s friends to line up their cars near the Glass house at 12:20 p.m. and then parade past.

Molly Hamer, Northbrook Park District executive director, said it has gotten to the point where there are frequent gatherings at parks that are often bigger than a group of 10. She added that people are going on playground equipment on a regular basis, even though playgrounds are closed per the governor’s order.

“Our local police force is struggling to enforce things without additional signage,” Hamer said.

With Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s shelter-in-place order in effect through April 7, the Northbrook Park Board held its Wednesday, March 25 meeting via conference call instead of in-person.

Northern Suburban Special Recreation Association (NSSRA) actors are eager to one day still perform "I, Phone" for crowds after the production was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

As schools and businesses began to close to limit the spread of the coronavirus, Bright Star Theatre Company director Julie Gibson Lay knew the writing was on the wall for the troupe’s upcoming performances.
