Back in 2001 I was in Yemen, in the capital city of Sana'a, puffin' sheesha with my awesome guide, Ahmed.
I asked him: "Ahmed, you know my ci******es?"
"Yes," he says.
"You know the OTHER ci******es?" I asked, tilting my head in a conspiratorial way. Ahmed nodded.
"Let me make a phone call," he says.
So there I was, sittin' in a cafe waitin' on a call-back....go halfway around the world to find out how exactly the same so many of us are.

My father once tried to get a married woman to leave her husband by sending her a box of "gifts" that were all various pictures of himself....and a set of his overalls.
One of the things in that box was a photo of him with a bit of his beard added under the glass. Do women usually respond well to a man sending her his portrait and his hair? This woman did not take the bait. Instead, she sent the whole box to me.
