Yesterday, Interlink founder, Michel Moushabeck (Baba) welcomed Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib to University Of Massachusetts for a conversation about resisting occupation and genocide. Rashida was introduced by Interlink owners, Maha and Leyla Moushabeck via zoom because their support of student action, and resulting arrest last year, has barred them from campus. Don’t worry, they got to meet her anyways.

A HUGE thank you to Rashida Talib for coming to our community and sharing your guidance in these hard times.

The event was sponsored by us, Jewish Voice for Peace Western Mass, Umass SJP and FJP, Resistance Studies, and Media Education Foundation

Interlink Publishing has made the difficult decision to withdraw from exhibiting at The National Council of Teachers of English annual convention due to National Council of Teachers of English’s choice to platform a harmful Zionist organization with a record of targeting authors and educators who are Palestinian or who support Palestinian human rights. As proud supporters of educators, and the only Palestinian exhibitor at NCTE, we had hoped to participate in this conference to showcase our impactful books to educators nationwide. However, as a mission-driven independent publishing house committed to platforming marginalized voices, we are unwilling to compromise on the safety of our staff, authors, and supporters or subject them to risks that we cannot mitigate. We cannot justify using our limited marketing budget to support an environment where anti-genocide advocates are placed in jeopardy. Some of our courageous authors have chosen to participate in their panels despite the risks and we strongly urge you to support them.

Please read and sign the petition to tell NCTE to stop platforming hateful, anti-Palestinian organizations that target educators and censor student learning: bit.ly/NCTE-petition via Ijeoma Oluo

Note: This petition is being put together by teachers and authors who are participating at the 2024 NCTE convention in Boston. We have tried unsuccessfully to persuade NCTE to revoke their platforming of CAMERA, an aggressive anti-Palestinian organization that does not belong at a professional event...
