About 10:45pm on Sunday evening Dakota City Fire responded to a home on Stable Drive near Gateway Drive for reports of a house that caught fire and a person injured from an explosion. One person was transported to the hosptial.

Between Noon and One earlier today. Many of you noticed there were Police, Fire and EMS on highway 75 at Smith River Road. First those of you who were impeding traffic or gawking with your phones, shame on you. Sioux City Fire Rescue was recovering a body from the area. If this ends up being news worthy and information comes out, I'll pass it on. If you see nothing more from me, consider it none of our business.

Update: Pssst even though the rain has stopped and the sun is out be sure you're paying close attention for stuff that may have happened due to the flash flooding.

Previous: Lots of flash flooding happening out there, including man hole covers popping off. Avoid flooded areas and be observant when traveling.

FROM SCPD
MISSING CHILD ALERT: The SCPD is asking for assistance to help locate [removed] He is a 12-year-old, black male, with brown eyes, black hair, 4'9", 70pds. He is autistic and non-verbal but understands basic English commands. He was last seen in the area of 1600 W 4th Street in Sioux City. He was wearing only pants, no shirt or shoes, when he left. He may run if confronted and has been known to enter houses. If seen please call 911 or the Communications Center at 712-279-6960 immediately. Thank you for your assistance in locating Deng safely.

Sioux City Police Department is asking the publics help with identifying this male who intentionally damaged thirteen vehicles that were parked in a downtown Sioux City parking ramp around 10:45am on Monday June 24, 2024. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to call the Sioux City Police Department at (712)279-6440 or Crime Stoppers at (712) 258-TIPS.
