Meet Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana Board Treasurer, Vita Riner
Vita Riner holds a Bachelor's degree and immigrated to the USA from Mexico in 2002. In 2004, founded Vita Latina Magazine, in 2007 joined the first Spanish radio station in Northwest Louisiana. As an editor and publisher, she has writing thousands of articles connecting and empowering the Latino community while also building bridges between communities. In 2015, she launched her own advertising agency, and in 2019, she and her son opened the 318 Latino Podcast. Vita co-founded with a great group the Hispanic Heritage Association of Northwest Louisiana in 2022
Vita visionary leadership has been the driving force behind numerous impactful events and initiatives that have empowered and connected the Latino community. Through her dedication, she has created opportunities for cultural celebration and education, such as the Hispanic Heritage Festival and Latino Day at the Fair, which has become the most popular day at the State Fair of Louisiana. Vita's commitment to uplifting the Latino community is further seen in her creation of workshops like Little Entrepreneurs for Latino Kids and the Hispanic Teacher Appreciation Day, honoring educators who have left their countries to teach in the U.S. Her leadership also extends to organizing Noche de Gala, an event that recognizes Latino leaders and entrepreneurs, and the Day of the Dead Music Festival, which won the Outstanding Event of the Year. Vita continuously seeks to empower Latinos, recognizing their vital role in the community.
Vita is deeply committed to the belief that service is the responsibility of every individual. She believes that a significant portion of her time should be dedicated to serving others, understanding that through service, stronger and more supportive communities are built.
