Excited to have my copy of the I Hear Sirens record; Stella Mori.

Making this record was such a great time. This took place pretty much a year ago, later January 2019 I believe. Here are some real quick details from the production that I remember from making this record. 
•
For drum tracking we used a few different stereo room mic setups to get a few different sonic images of David Quall's kit, this helps keeping a consistent drum sound throughout the record while being able to ambience and vibe for different songs.  Daved Harris' Guitars were mostly done with the Reeve's Custom Jimmy through a Marshall 4x12. We used a big selection of effects pedals, with different combinations of mics on the cabinet that really allowed us to get different times throughout the entire record. All of the cool synth, key and string pads played by Trevor Smith were achieved with his amazing ear, and his skills with MIDI technology. Other interesting details about the production of Stella Mori include some guest string performances by the band Hoofless.

After tracking in January the band travelled to Austin Texas to mix the record with Matt Weinegar. Matt worked his magic and was able to send it off to Ed Brooks for mastering.

When it comes to Ribbon Microphones, the Royer 121 is a studio staple here at Archive. We use ours on guitars, drum overheads, and just about everything else honestly. Anyone else a big fan of these mics?⠀

This 1970 Univox Super Fuzz is super rare, and probably the most ridiculous pedal here at Archive. Whenever we need that fuzz to the extreme, this is always the first choice.⠀
