On this day five years ago, I began to write music as Great American Racer (thanks to Facebook memories for the reminder). Already feels like a lifetime ago. I was back home from college for the weekend, and as ideas began to stir in my head, I set up my equipment and recorded a demo called "Desire". The song came pretty naturally (I think I wrote it in a couple hours), and as I thought about the message and the music itself, I felt like it needed a new name to be under. And the rest was history. "Desire" will be the opening track on the record.
