Marion Stokes, a Philadelphia woman who began taping whatever was on television in 1979 and didn't stop until her death in 2012. The 71,000 VHS and Betamax tapes she made are the most complete colltion preserving this era of TV. The are being digitized by the internet Archive.

This is a great time of year to de-cable, unplug, and bring your dust-sucking towers and laptops outdoors for a good blow.
I’m using a little blower from Amazon and it’s handy for electronics, lamp shades, AC filters, that sort of thing.

Very busy today. Cleaned the heads on my Sony 530 Digital 8 camcorder and now capturing lossless AVI files.
The workflow for the video is Sony CCD-TRV530>Datavideo Time Base Corrector>Tevion Hi-Speed capture dongle>Lenovo Windows 7 laptop. Always with S-video cables, NEVER composite!
As for the audio, I run it through an audio attenuator before it gets to the Tevion so I can adjust the levels.
Don't settle for substandard conversions of your tapes.
I have six camcorders: 2 Sony Digital8, one Sony 8XR, two Canon HDV-DV, and a JVC S-VHS-C.
VCRs? Six fully functional Super VHS machines, with a sixth awaiting a refurb.
Let's face it, I am not your $5-$10 basement conversion service, and I'm not FAST, but I get it done, and done right.

Quality takes skill, time, and well-cared-for equipment.
My SuperVHS machines are carefully chosen and then refurbished by a master licensed technician (John's TV in Taunton, MA) to get the best playback of almost any tape.
I also use "legacy" capture USB dongles that work best on WindowsXP and Windows7 when Videotape was still a hot commodity. My capture computer is OFFLINE and 100% Windows 7x64! When it concerns videotape, "newer" is not "better".
