Had some good close range intercepts of weak tornados and my lovely future wife was able to video her first tornado!

A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible. Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely. Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

A few tornadoes, some of which could be strong, very large hail to the size of baseballs, and isolated wind damage are all expected through tonight from southeast Texas into central parts of Louisianaand Mississippi. More isolated severe storms will be possible into Alabama and western Georgia.

Today and Tomorrow look to have high ceilings for severe weather across the south and now a new Day 4 and 5 have been introduced for the end of this coming week. Have a way to receive watches and warnings today and tomorrow and we will keep posted on the future outlooks!

NWS has expanded the area for significant tornado threat deep into East Texas! They also mention an upgrade possibility. Today could be a very significant day for severe weather! Please have a way to receive watch’s and warnings and a plan if there is a tornado warning in your area!

“The core concentration of severe threat -- including the potential for several tornadoes, some strong (EF2+) -- should be from parts of east TX across central LA to central/southern MS this afternoon into late evening.”

If confidence increases in associated longer-tracked tornado potential, based on 12Z guidance and daylight mesoanalysis trends, an upgrade may be needed in a succeeding outlook.

Time to start making your safety plans in these areas highlighted. SPC has issued and upgrade to Enhanced risk with a 10% # for strong tornadoes

SUMMARY:
Severe thunderstorms are likely Monday afternoon into Monday night from east Texas into parts of the Lower-Mississippi Valley and Southeast. Damaging winds and several tornadoes, a few of which may be strong, will be the primary hazards. However, some large hail is
also possible.
