1996. “I said I didn’t want any trucoat!” Look…it’s before thanksgiving and we were feeling the “Minnesota Nice” so we channeled our beloved Aunt Barb and we put on dis film here to make us happy, eh? A small time car dealer decides to knock off his wife and sets into motion a “whodunnit” that involves a local police chief and her staff - well that’s a black comedy we can all enjoy. Directed by the Coen Brothers and starring Francis McDormand, William H. Macy, Peter Stormare, Steve Buscemi, and Harvey Presnell - this is how you prep for a holiday. Presented by the LSCE, we are proud to present “Fargo.” Roll it!

We don’t do a bunch of holiday films around these parts (not traditional ones anyway) - but this one is a perennial favorite of ours, in no small part due to the universal truth that we all have families. ‘Nuff said. Directed by Jodie Foster and starring Holly Hunter, Robert Downey Jr., Anne Bancroft, Charles Durning, Dylan McDermott, Geraldine Chaplin, Steve Guttenberg, Cynthia Stevenson, Claire Danes, Austin Pendleton, and David Strathairn- this is how you slide into Thanksgiving. Did they use Bon Ami? Do calm and murder go together!? It wouldn’t be October in these parts if we didn’t screen one of our all-time favorites- a Don Knotts classic, just in time for Halloween. Luther Heggs has the journalistic opportunity of his life, a chance to cover the haunting of the old Simmons place, where a murder-suicide happened many years ago...if he can keep up his nerve to stay there. Directed by Alan Rafkin and starring the aforementioned Knotts, Joan Stanley, Liam Redmond, Sandra Gould, Dick Sargent and Skip Homeier- plus an amazing soundtrack by Vic Mizzy, we are kicking off this Friday night right. The LSCE is proud to present “The Ghost & Mr. Chicken.” Roll it!
