Weekends will never be the same! I had to say a few goodbyes in July. First, my deskmate Brenna McIntosh . Brenna is not just a hard worker and a phenomenal journalist but she’s also a good friend. I’ll miss working alongside her and hearing her sing random songs.

Sports Anchor Julia Haskins 13News Now also left us last month. Julia was such a bright and positive light in the newsroom. She worked hard every weekend to bring viewers the latest news in Sports. I’ll miss both of these ladies but I know they have bright futures ahead!

IT’S OFFICIAL: President Joe Biden has dropped out of the Presidential race. In a statement, he touted his victories and accomplishments serving as president. However, he said he believes it’s in the best interest to stand down.

This announcement comes as the Democratic National Convention gets ready to kick off next month.

So what's going to happen next? Who’s going to step up to the plate? I guess we'll have to wait to get those answers.

Officials say they got a call that a man jumped off a fishing boat to retrieve something at around 12:30 p.m., but he then drifted away.

We’ll be covering this story all evening.

SEARCH & RESCUE EFFORT IN HAMPTON:
The Coast Guard and other rescue units are searching for a 60-year-old man who they say jumped off a fishing boat to retrieve an item in the water. The Coast Guard says one other person was in the boat with him. Multiple units are assisting in the rescue.

Norfolk Police Department wrapped up their investigation of a juvenile male shot along the 1700 block of Vernon Drive Wednesday afternoon. The juvenile was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Neighbors tell me they are tired of the violence.

Antoine Rabbit Smith Singer is waiting to hear the status of two of his friends in the building when it collapsed. He says one person missing is like a mother figure to him.
