from 11am - 4pm at the Woodcraft store on Emerson Ave., Parkersburg and at the Blennerhassett Museum the 2nd and 4th Tue from 6pm - 8pm. The Geppetto Woodcarvers Club was founded in 1990 by a small group of woodcarvers to share their interest in learning and advancing the hobby of woodcarving. Over the past 30 years, the Geppetto Woodcarvers club has grown and expanded our outreach in the Mid-Ohio

Valley. The Club meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Woodcraft store located at Emerson Ave. Meeting times are 10am until 1pm. There is a short monthly business meeting followed by a program, discussion, or open carving. Beginning in 2021, Geppetto Woodcarvers and Woodcraft® partnered for “Geppetto Woodcarvers Wednesday at Woodcraft.” We meet each Wednesday from 11am until 4pm at the store where Geppetto Woodcarvers and guests participate in open woodcarving. Club members are available to help new woodcarvers interested in learning more about woodcarving. Membership in Geppetto Woodcarvers includes the following benefits:

• The Club maintains a 100+ volume woodcarving library and reference material collection. Club members may borrow these books at any time.
• Members and their families are invited to attend our annual Christmas party and an annual picnic.
• The club supports and attends several area annual events promoting woodcarving and our passion for the hobby.
• A monthly newsletter is provided to Geppetto Woodcarvers members.
• The club recently developed an introductory carving manual for new carvers. Geppetto Woodcarver members will use this manual where appropriate to introduce and mentor members new to woodcarving.
• We celebrate and acknowledge our longtime members who have supported our club and for sharing their woodcarving knowledge. Currently, there are three living Geppetto Woodcarvers Life Members.
• Our annual club community service project is the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. The effort is supported by members of Geppetto Woodcarvers who carve Christmas ornaments throughout the year and donate them to the project. The ornaments are sold at craft fairs with the sale proceeds used to sponsor children in need and who would otherwise not enjoy a special Christmas. For the past several years Geppetto Woodcarvers have sponsored three children each year by providing gifts for them at Christmas.
• Annual membership is $20.00 per year with the membership year from January 1st through December 31st. The Club pays half of the National Wood Carvers Association (NWCA) membership dues for members who wish to join the NWCA. Membership includes the quarterly magazine, (Chip Chats), and is recommended for all woodcarvers, especially those new to the hobby. The camaraderie and fellowship of fellow woodcarvers are priceless. You will find woodcarvers are friendly and a special group of people. We hope you will consider joining Geppetto Woodcarvers.
