Friends, I'm Tim and I live in southwest Florida. I'm doing a small fundraiser to help a little girl in Mexico. Mily has four congenital heart defects and her lungs were heavily damaged by the treatment that kept her alive when she was first born. She might need a lung transplant that could be the first step toward a more normal life. The total amount we need for the trip to Mexico City and her lung evaluation is $2,100, and we already have $260 of that. If you can't donate, I totally get it. Hi, my name is Tim, and I would like you to meet Mily. The name Mily is short for Milagro, which means Miracle in Spanish. And Mily is certainly a miracle. She was born with multiple congenital health conditions, any one of which could have taken her young life. She spent her first three months fighting for every breath in a neonatal ICU. Her family tries to do whatever they can to raise money for her tests and treatments, but they need help.

I'm trying to raise $2,100 for a trip to Mexico City for this test and some others. Her grandmother will take her on the 12-hour bus ride and they will need to stay in Mexico City for several days.

I've been able to do this on my own in the past, but my new job doesn't give me nearly the financial reach I once had. So I'm asking for as many people as possible to add five or ten dollars to the fund. I have documentation of Mily's diagnoses and her treatments and other expenses. This is legitimate.

I met Mily's family after a friend lost her baby to leukemia. I went to her country to see how children receive medical care. It's not good. And, yes, I do know that we have tremendous need in this country, too. I believe we are big enough to help people in our own town and help people we have never met. I try to do both.

Mily's family depended on oxygen tank deliveries every few days for almost eight years to keep her alive. Now, thanks to loving friends, she now has an oxygen concentrator that works using regular room air. Someday we would love to get her a portable unit, but for now she still needs a small tank any time she leaves the house.

Summer is very hot in Colima and Mily was having a very hard time breathing. That's when the most recent miracle happened: Mily was given an air conditioner for her bedroom.
