Niagara Falls Police apprehends a sheep in the city
For Immediate Release
(Niagara Falls, New York) At 1:15pm officers were called about a sheep in a field in the 600 block of 7 th street. Officers arrived but did not see the sheep, only heard it.
The sheep was eventually found in a resident’s backyard. After attempting to capture the animal, the sheep was eventually contained by the NFPD Animal Control Officer.
It is unclear where the sheep came from but is now being taken to the Lakeview Animal Sanctuary. Investigation into the ownership of the sheep is currently ongoing.

Officer Involved Shooting
On November 19, 2022, at approximately 8:44pm, Town of Niagara
Officers responded to the 4700 block of Chester Ave. for a Domestic Incident occurring at a residence.
As result of an officer involvedshooting, a 40-year-old male is deceased.
No one else at the scene was injured.
At this time, the incident is currently being investigated by the Town of Niagara Police Department, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office and the New York State Attorney Generals office.
No additional information is being released at this time. The
investigation is continuing.

LOCKPORT, NY: Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced that a Niagara County jury returned a guilty verdict against Billy Benton Jr. of Niagara Falls in the double murder of Sonia Hamilton and Brian Harris. Benton was found guilty of the charges of Murder in the First Degree, Murder in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon for the May 7, 2020, killings of Hamilton and Harris on the 3100 block of 9th st. in Niagara Falls. Benton was also convicted of the Crimes of Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon for an unrelated shooting on January 17, 2020. The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department and prosecuted by First Assistant District Attorney Doreen Hoffmann and Assistant District Attorney Maria Stoelting
“These were awful, brutal killings,” said Seaman. A mother and her son were taken from their family in an act of terrible violence. “The maximum penalty for Murder in the First Degree is life imprisonment without the possibility of parole and we will be asking the court to impose that sentence in this case.”
