We are saddened at the loss of our very good friend, Dianne Davidson. Known for her "Good Mauning, Good Mauning Good Mauning" during the Wacky Wake Crew as she listed off the daily specials at the Dairy Center for Dave in the Morning.

She will be greatly missed.

Renaissance Festival Will Not Open Saturday

Huntersville, NC - The Carolina Renaissance Festival is unable to open tomorrow, Saturday, October 27th due to today’s persistent rainfall caused by remnants of Hurricane Willa. The persistent rain combined with a forecast for overnight cool temperatures will result in over saturation and slow drying of the farm fields used as seasonal parking. The Festival anticipates that cars cannot park in a safe and proper manner.

The Festival is typically open rain or shine but considers the amount of rainfall and cool temps caused by remnants of Hurricane Willa to be a unique weather event.

The Festival will open Sunday, October 28th as scheduled.

Mammograms Offered! - Newton NC HealthSmart Pharmacy

Monday, August 13th. Women can receive either the 2D or 3D mammogram on site that day. Catawba Valley Medical Center's mobile unit will be on site from 10am-4pm.

Women can sign up starting at 10 am and the last appointment at 3:45 pm.

In order to sign up for a mammogram, each individual must have at least one of the following: physician, PA, NP, OBGYN, etc. that they see regularly. Each individual should also be 40 years of age or older, and it must have been one year since the last screening mammogram. To sign up, women can visit or call HealthSmart Pharmacy at 828-466-1500. We ask that the insurance information be provided at the time of signup. The deadline to signup is Monday, August 6th.
