W E /// turned 15 today.

For those who’ve been with us since 2010—thank you. For the newer ones, here’s a glimpse of who we are.

was working at a magazine when I met her, and I was selling Mercedes at . I asked her to be the first employee of a yet-unnamed magazine, and over coffee, we sketched out the idea on a napkin.

We had no clue how to print, design, shoot, or write a magazine. But on February 10, 2010, we launched. 100 days later, we dropped our first issue—a glossy, oversized magazine featuring Erica Hosseini on the cover, with styling by and support from , , , , and 34 other businesses who believed in something that didn’t yet exist. We celebrated with our first of 500+ parties, complete with 400 guests, a fashion show, live art, and a photo booth.

Over 130 issues and 13 years, we shot thousands of photos, featured countless businesses and models, and evolved from covering friends to celebrities. I never imagined I’d be hanging with at her house, taking my daughter to ’s backyard, or paddling out with —but it all happened.

We hosted 10 years of Red, White & Luau, growing it from a few hundred to a few thousand attendees. We threw the Newport Beach Film Festival opening party twice, even building a stage over the pool. Thanks to for always having our backs in the early years.

Huge thanks to for being perfect, for your loyalty, and for always being my right and left arm. To my wife and muse , both my kids Luna and and to every writer, photographer, editor, and past employee—thank you for helping us reach 15 years.

Here’s to the future—more podcasts, social media innovation, and local storytelling.
