Rainfall amounts range from .04” to .36” across the region, a drop in the bucket towards the 10”-12” rainfall deficits. Hopefully enough to give firefighters an edge and moisten up the underbrush and forest floors to slow the growth of wildfires.

Any remaining fires will once again have unfavorable conditions and west winds the morning, will begin to shift NW through the day and become gusty later today. Tomorrow winds will continue to be blustery and then shift to the north. Expect the smoke associated with these fires to push east today, then SE tonight and then south tomorrow. Winds will range between 10-20 mph with gusts as high as 35-40 later today and tonight.

Despite the bit of rainfall, fire danger remains high, please refrain from ALL outdoor fires and be mindful of anything that can become an ignition source. Thanks you to all the fire fighters, first responders, rangers and personnel who have been away from family and risking their lives to thwart the spread of these fires.
